Good Book
This is a really good book to use for information surrounding GWC and learning about what his accomplishments were over the years. This isn't a typical setup, but rather is a series of letters and journals by GWC and those who knew him. Learning about the man in his own words is a real treasure.

Spiritual secrets of G.W. Carver revealed in this book!
Anyone who reads about G.W. Carver soon discovers that THIS man is something special. This Carver guy had a special relationship with God that allowed him to be happy and successful during the lowest point in American history. How did he do it?Many other books will tell you about the accomplishments of George W. Carver, but THIS book will tell you the methods he used to actually do it! If you are a Christian you will really like this book because it tells of Carver's method of LOVING the plants and talking with God during early morning walks to learn secrets only God knows about his creation. I have seven books on George W. Carver on my shelf because he is probably my biggest personal HERO. This man didn't just discover uses for the peanut. This man single handedly brought the south out of poverty after the American civil war! Carver's goal was to "help the man farthest down the ladder." Carver had NO INTEREST in self enrichment from his discoveries. Carver had NO BOOKS in his laboratory! He depended on God for expert information on how to solve problems. He didn't even call it his workshop. He called it "God's Little Workshop" (page 53). Mr. Carver had five KEY scriptures or, "slogan passages" he followed to assure happiness, success, and power... read about it on page 75 and 82 in this book. This book has many letters written by Carver which is nice to have because other books about him are other authors opinions, not Carver's actual writings. This book is not very thick, being only 96 pages plus 6 pages of "endnotes". The book also has about 40 black & white photos in it, which I appreciate because it makes reading it extra- interesting. This book is excellent, and if you are serious about studying G.W. Carver, I also suggest an old somewhat rare book by Rackham Holt titled "George Washington Carver, an American biography" which is 342 pages long and was printed in 1945 (it has 22 photos).

Excellent book
It’s a small book, but it reveals how great a man that George Washington Carver was.

Just like the title says
The book started out with a brief biography and then moved into a compilation of Carver's own letters, speeches, etc.People can impose on Carver all their own thoughts about what he was thinking. But it's awfully hard to argue with his own words. He was a devout Christian and an obsessive scientist. And he certainly seemed like a genuinely kind man.

What a Man of God!
This is a fascinating piece of history showing Dr. George Washington Carver for who he really was: a humble, yet extraordionary scientist. So many products in our home today were invented by him. His contribution to science revolutionized the economy, enabling many farmers to put food on the table. I enjoyed this more than some other books on Carver, because it was allowed Dr. Carver to describe his walk with God in his own words. This is a powerful book that gives you a glimpse into a remarkable life.
