I bought another version of this contraption. After following their explicit instructions I had NO EARWAX removed on the little white spiral. That was a few years ago and I figured these may have been improved from the earlier version. I figured wrong! Once again I followed their explicit instructions and when the little white spiral was removed—once again NO EARWAX came out with it or even on it. Also, with this version, it was FAR MORE DIFFICULT to remove the little white spiral from the handle, making the first version far superior, in my opinion, to this version. I won’t be trying it again. I certainly can’t recommend it to anyone.UPDATE: I was contacted by the seller and they very sincerely wanted to make my bad experience with their product right. In addition, they are refunding my original purchase cost. They are sending another product they hope will work better than what I originally purchased. Their Customer Service was truly interested in making things right. When I receive the new product I will give it a fair trial. If it’s superior to the other item, I will change my review stars accordingly. I’m currently giving 4 stars (up from 1) because of their excellent Customer Service. It’s very nice that Amazon chooses to work with such dedicated sellers.

These worked out great for what I needed, with one exception. The outlet on one end of one of the hot valves was not manufactured properly and was over size. They are 1/2 fittings, but 1/2 pex would not fit over the one end. I didn't realize this until after I had already installed it and crimped the line on the other end. Other than that one fitting, everything else about these valves did exactly what I needed.
