Karen Germany began making these dolls in the late 1980s. However, Daddy Long Legs dolls were produced only until the early 2000s. These are African-American dolls that have dangly legs and come wearing a variety of historical and themed outfits. Karen's goal was to create a collection that would make the collector smile and characters to make you think of someone special. in 1985, Karen began designing good quality ethnic products, Karen developed Daddy s Long Legs dolls into a predominately African-American collection. This unique family of dolls gave collectors the special dolls for over thirteen years. Sadly, in July 2003 the company has retired the entire Daddy's Long Legs® due to rising costs of domestic production. This highly collectable, line is very hard to find.
