This part of a plastic strap has always been a weak point in my experience so being able to get replacements is a good solution to the problem, not least because a complete strap is quite expensive. Fitting it doesn't require the strap to be removed as long as you are careful when doing it. The part appears well made and robust and hasn't cracked, stretched or hardened in the several months since it was fitted.
