A pleasent surprise.
I was pleasantly surprised with how well this grinder performs, especially at the price point. It gives a pretty consistent grind and it is perfect for making espresso. This thing will turn your beans to the consistency of flour if you want that or it will give you a decent coarse grind. It's better at giving a finger grind than a coarse grind for a regular coffee grind which is better for me since I use it for espresso. I can also confirm it is a conical Burr mill. It is also pretty quiet and is extremely compact. It's extremely easy to use and clean. You just twist the top and press the power button and you are good to go and it's a breeze to take apart clean then reassemble. The only cons that it has is it grinds a little slower than a lot of other grinders and you sometimes have to shake it to get the beans into the grinder. But do to it's compact size it's not a problem to pick it up to shake it. And it is slow ish but its not that loud and it gives such a good grind that I don't mind the extra time to get the job done right. All in all I really like this grinder and the good by far out ways the bad. It does a great job especially at the price point so this item gets an easy recommendation from me. I was expecting to go through a few grinders before I found one that was perfect for me but this was the first one I ordered and it ended up being a home run on the first buy so that why this machine was such a pleasent surprise.

This is a very nice coffee grinder!
I really like this coffee grinder. It grinds coffee very uniformly. It’s quiet and quick. The hopper is of ample size, and the receptacle for ground coffee is also large enough to hold a decent amount of ground coffee. The grinding mechanism, meaning the steel parts that actually grind the coffee seem to be made of a very high grade steel. This coffee grinder should last a long time, although I can’t speak to its durability, because we just received this, and have ground only a couple of grinds of coffee. Some people have written about the static electricity that causes the grounds to stick to many of the parts in the grinder, especially the grinding receptacle. It’s true. However, I had a new, unused 1 inch wide paintbrush at the house, and it works 10 times better than the little brush that is supplied on one end of the supplied scoop. Go to your local hardware store and purchase one for a dollar or two. You’ll be glad you did. It makes clean up a breeze.

Static!
This is (obviously) less labor-intensive than my manual ceramic burr grinder. It’s pretty quick & easy. My biggest beef with this is the STATIC. The coffee seems to get charged & with a plastic receptacle the ground coffee winds up all over the preparation surface. So you’re probably going to be wasting a gram or two each time you prep. It helps if you can let it sit for a while before pulling it out to use the coffee, but that’s pretty counter-intuitive when you’re looking for fresh-ground coffee. (Trial, error & too much multitasking led me to the “let it rest” solution. But I don’t always have time to do that.)This nearly made me return it. But I’m lazy & the grind is quick enough that it doesn’t seem to impact the taste, so I decided to put up with the coffee explosion because I caught this on a sale for about a quarter of the price of the la-dee-dah brand I’d researched & it does the trick. Also, it does get a weird metallic burning smell if it runs for more than a second it takes to grind the brand. So if I’m grinding a double-batch. & My time estimate is off, I just hit the button again to turn it off ASAP.I prefer the coffee using my manual ceramic burr grinder, but some days that’s just not happening. So, if that won’t make you crazy, it’s a good little grinder that’s simple to use.

Quick/Even Grinds - Static!
I've used a nice hand grinder for my espressos for years and feel that this grinder does just as good a job in 6 seconds rather than 8 minutes. It's compact enough that it doesn't take up much counter space. But yes the static is bad for me too. I live in high altitude, low humidity climate. It could just be that. But it can make pouring it out a little messy at times. But happy with the purchase none the less.

Good grinder for the price
Very good grinder given the price point. HOWEVER, the numbers on the dial don’t mean much as I need to grind “12 cups” twice for 1/2 pot of coffee at a decent strength. I’ve had this for a couple of months now and it still feels like a solid purchase. Bottom line - it won’t compete in quality with a burr grinder in the $200+ range but if you’re in a budget the compromise pays off.

Messy as hell, but I love it.
I like this coffee grinder a lot. Some may find it messy, which it is, but I find it therapeutic. I like my coffee strong so I scoop four serving spoons of Starbucks French Roast into the Grinder. I press the button and let it run for about 10 seconds. While this is going on I tip the machine from side to side settling the beans into grinder, I give it a whack or two then turn off the machine so as not to overheat. I repeat this about 3 times until you hear the grinding process is complete. Once this is done I shake and whack it again to settle coffee into hopper. I pull out the hopper, pull of the lid and whack it in the filter to knock off the coffee. There will be enough coffee to fill the filter. This too will take a few more whacks to get the remaining coffee into the filter. I have the grind setting right in the middle. This may sound like a lot of bother, but the coffee tastes great!

Nice device.
I got this to replace a Cuisinart with worn burrs. This one is a little more compact, much quieter and has a tighter fitting receptacle for the ground coffee. It also grinds rather quickly and grounds are a consistent texture. While "static cling" is still a problem, this ones seems less messy overall. I'm giving it four stars because I haven't been able to twist off the bean hopper to clean/check the grinding mechanism, I don't want to force it and end up breaking it, otherwise it would be five stars.

It’s ok
A bit loud, the tray to remove the ground coffee is actually hard to pull out, I have to use my finger nails. Nice looking & functions fine.
