Great construction!
The reel is made from really good quality components. The reel is definitely smooth. The ease of use is just like any other reel and that handle can be switched to either side. Performance is great. The weight of the 5000 with the tsunami trophy II is amazing. Could it be a hair lighter yes but compared to a penn battle or a daiwa bg of equal size, this reel is lighter then those. I've got 30lb braid to a 30lb leader attached to a tactical anglers clip(50lb) for fall and spring striper fishing on the 10ft medium heavy tsunami trophy II rod. And I'm 5'4" so length and usability of rods is a big thing. Anyone that's short knows using longer rods beyond this makes it hard but do-able. But the only down side I think the line capacity they give is off. 30lb line at over 300+ or so of braid yea no way unless we have a line spooling machine then sure you can get that amount of line on if your also using the thinnest more expensive braids. This is true for most companies. I worked in an outdoors store and this was very apparent across all reel brands. So take the line capacity with grain of salt depending on braided line company you go with. If you can do J-Braid or another company that's similar. But if your looking for a bailess conversion kit, go to the tsunami company website and give them a chat to obtain a kit. Last time I was told it's pretty cheap for the kit and shipping. Besides this the reel is great. But DO NOT ROTATE HANDLE WHILE UNDER WATER OR BEING RINSED OFF.

Very durable and cast very well.
I own a 6000 and 4000. I have fished the 6000 from the surf pretty heavy for over a year. It is still like new and I hardly ever rinse after use. There is also bail-less conversion kit available. The 4000 has also been great. Huge fan of these reels.

My favorite reel
I bought 4000 model which is the perfect size for my 7ft rod .I also have 6000 tsunami shield Bayless for 3 years and never had any problems. Just rinse after day of fishing in fresh water and you're good to go.

Waterproofed, light, well built but poor paint
Update:I didn't know the foot of a reel could be twisted/bent. But that is what exactly happened to the reel. While I was casting, a hook from the casting rod got caught to the line from the reel on the rod I rested a side, and the resting rod fell down. Later when I switched to the rod fell down, I noticed that the foot of the reel twisted about 15 degrees to a side, the reel was pointing a side. I thought it was totally destroyed. I twisted the reel back to straight position, and it was just too easy to do so. It seems other parts are made with good materials. But the foot of the reel is not what I expected from a $100 reel. Cutting to 1 star.1 and half year review:It is a great reel for the money. Maybe not for serious surf fishing guys but for kayak fishing guys that dump reel side of rods under water couple times every trip to unhook fish, this reel would work just fine.First, it is waterproofed. After 1 and half year of use for saltwater fishing, it is as smooth as a brand new. I'm totally happy with that.Secondly, it is light. Perfect for jigging. After a day of moving your arm up and down, it does make big difference.Thirdly, it is well built structure wise. I don't see any loose parts yet. Then the paint job. The the paint on the part connects to a rod gets bubbles and chips off. It is probably to cut the production cost. But, it could be a perfect jigging reel if the paint issue wasn't there.Anyways, I recommend the reel if you are worried about ruining your reels from saltwater.

SMOOTH and STRONG
Very good quality, smooth operation. Great drag and the ball grip helps releive stress on reeling in a big fish.
