It did not seem to work. After a couple of weeks it started reading low salt, but the salt was noticeably salty in the water. I don't think it was working but I don't know how to tell whether it is or not. I could not get low salt to turn off no matter what I did. I don't think it ever worked at all!

I’m on my 2nd unit, luckily Amazon replaced the unit after it stopped the self cleaning cycle and the plates became covered with calcium. When it worked it worked well and kept the pool clear, but when it stopped working it started telling me that the salt was low, I added some salt and it never stopped warning me of low salt. I then tested the salt level with a test strip and it was high because I added more. I then noticed the unit was not responding to any commands. I really hope this second unit works longer than the last, Before this I had Intex system which had brittle polycarbonate cell housings that cracked and failed after needing to override the generator circuit. I was really hoping this unit was going to last, but I have my doubts.Update: steer clear of this unit, buy an Intex brand and don’t look back. Same problems as the first. I bought an updated Intex brand to replace this and Intex apparently updated their design, the areas I had problems with on the Intex have been addressed and it looks like it will last longer now.Bottom line, don’t buy this one, it’s a piece of junk!

The indicator says add salt, well after adding way too much salt I find that it isn't working. Not only is it not working I now have way too much salt in the pool which will take YEARS to get the ph back to where it needs to be. I now will have to drain most of the pool water which will cost me hundreds of dollars on the water bill. DO NOT BUY !!!!!!!!

The only complaint is that it constantly beeps stating high salt levels in the pool. Have had levels checked many times and all is well. Other than that, easy installation

Worst waste of money! I should have read the other reviews! Stopped working after first month with an error of low salt, salt is more than high enough at 3000ppm unit is cheap and should not be sold! Amazon needs to remove these sellers!

We used it a few months before it quite working 2 weeks in to having it the hose split and I wasn't home and had to refill my pool
