This jacket is very well made. It's designed as jacket for spring and fall, not winters in the Arctic. Yes, the pockets are somewhat small. But the really great thing about this jacket, other than its overall construction, is the zippers. They are brass and they are as smooth as silk--no balkiness whatsoever. In normal use, brass zippers will outlast plastic or Nylon zippers. I can put what I need to in the pockets; if you want a "Captain Kangaroo" jacket with extremely large pockets, then this jacket is not for you. Speaking of pockets, it also has a zippered inner pocket, as well as the "handwarmer" and a vertical pocket on the outside. This is the kind of jacket that should last 30 years or longer. It's made in Germany where quality is still something that manufacturers care about.

This jacket is ok for around town. It is not a jacket for extended wear if the temps are going to be near, at, or below freezing or if precipitation is expected. The fit is "trim" (to say the least) so layering under it is a problem. The sleeves are constructed of multiple panels so, even though they are double stitched, they will eventually have leakage unless repeatedly waterproofed. I laughed at the discription saying the pockets are, "generous". The designers must have the hands of a 12 year old. The zipper on the chest pocket is an excellent metal zipper, but it is installed upside-down. Movement can cause it to zip down (open) and the pocket is shallow so contents will fall out. Do NOT put your cell in the outer chest pocket. I gave this jacket 2 stars because it is usable for a night on the town (as long as I don't plan to be outdoors much).
