Books to Movies
This is a unique collection of books which have been made into movies. I really enjoy reading this book. If you haven't read the book of some favorite movies than this book is for you. From "Gone with the Wind " to "Kill a Mockingbird". It shows the differences that a movie does to a book. I love this book!!!!

Film Fans: Well Worth a Read
Informative contrasting of book and film. Since I belong to a book group that has started inthis kind of pairing, I was pleased to see this collection. I might have made some different choices of books and films to compare, but hope that this is only Volume One of a series. Keep it going!

An interesting book that gives details about movies you might not have known.
I have NOT read the book as it was a gift to a friend. He, on the other hand has read it and loved it. It was a fascinating read and it gave him insight into how some of the movies we've seen have been changed from the original story, many times for the better. Read it and see what you think.

Not Nearly Enough for an Interesting Topic
This is a fantastic idea for a book. Ms. Lopez explores 52 books that have been made into movies, discussing the quality of each, and delving into where the movie differs from the book. Unfortunately, reading the book didn’t turn out to be quite as fun as I hoped it would be.There are various reasons for this. For one, the articles are brief, only a few pages, which doesn’t allow for a particularly deep analysis. Also, since it is a cliché that the book is always better than the movie, and the movies here are chosen because they are very successful, there is a clash of purpose that is never really resolved.Though I have by no means read all the books nor seen all the movies described here, I have read a good enough number of them and seen a good enough number of them to know that Ms. Lopez and I don’t always see eye to eye (The Princess Bride, The Lord of the Rings, for example). This makes me more suspicious of her analysis of those I haven’t read or seen. It’s an uncomfortable feeling.I still think this is a fantastic idea for a book. Ms. Lopez may even be the person to write it. If she tries again, however, I would suggest more depth and, as much as I like the TCM channel, get away from the corporate sponsorship. There are probably a lot of movies not owned by TCM that would make for better chapters.
