Memorable book...
I found the book very interesting and read it in a few hours. I thought I had it all figured out, but in true Patterson fashion, the killer isn't who you think it is. Patterson's co-author is a journalist and I've heard it can be difficult for journalists to write fiction, but she did a wonderful job bringing the book to life. I won't spoil it for you, but Sandra is likeable and I will remember her for quite some time to come. You'll have to read the book to find how who she is!

A Quick Mystery Read
James Patterson has combined forces with his Master Class Winner Kecia Bal with this quick read mystery in a series released called Bookshots. Lana has moved from the world of crime reporting in Chicago to the world of Business reporting in Boston. When she arrives through the newsroom is in an uproar as a few business people have turned up dead with one deep stab wound and no forced entry. The crime scenes are as clean as clean could be. Lana teams up with her experience as a crime reporter with Kristen, the Boston's to find out what is going on. She decides to use the business cover to learn about Eric, and when she talks to his wife, she learns about Eric's sex doll. As she delves deeper, Lana meets Sandra who is a sex doll who is almost like a human. She starts to develop a relationship with her but soon backfires when Sandra's owner turns up dead, and Sandra escapes. As Lana goes on a mission to save Sandra can she get to the bottom of the hacking of the sex dolls? The Dolls was a quick mystery read and to sum it up - The Dolls = Attack of the Killer Sex Dolls.

Futuristic killer robots
Futuristic. Killer sexbots programmed to please men and to kill. The plot idea was good, but the writing style and character description was poor. The characters were plastic. Not interesting. The plot was made in a hurry because it did not fulfill the usual Patterson's twists. This was just another Stepford wives story: perfect dolls to perform and do whatever you like, no arguments, no discussions, no fights.

Chilling
Creepy concept. What if dolls that are so realistic they are indistinguishable from humans really existed. And, what if someone was controlling those dolls, bending them to his/her will. What would happen? The Dolls centers around one possible scenario. The book is chilling and will send goosebumps up your spine. And the chill doesn't stop when you read the last page. Once you finish the book, you can't help but wonder what else these dolls could do.

A quick and entertaining read
I really enjoyed this book. I had it in my wish list for awhile and was debating whether or not to order it after reading some of the reviews, but I'm so glad I decided to give it a try. It's a quick and entertaining read, and even though it's quite short ( I read it in smart spurts over two days), the character development is well done and you find yourself hooked to the story. The ending lends itself to the possibility of a second book, and I for one would love to know what happens to Sandra. I also think the concept would lend itself well to a small or big screen adaptation. I would recommend this book.

Excellent
This book was excellent, though different in my expectations. The characters were developed, but some were dropped as the book went along. I enjoyed the plot and the storyline. The end was very good, except for the missing main characters. I highly recommend this book for is fascinating differences.

Wish the book was longer
I wasn't ready for the book to end. I wanted more of Lana and Sandra, and I hope there will be another book about these characters. It was a quick, enticing read. I love Mr. Patterson's books, and this was no exception. Though Bookshots are meant to be short, it was still well crafted from character development to word choices to plot. I'd recommend this and all the rest of the Bookshots series to any fan of Mr. Patterson's.

Not for me.
Did not enjoy the book but then not a lover of shorter stories. Too far fetched for my liking and visualising a robot standing trial was just unbelievable. Shame!! Generally like James Patterson.

Good
I enjoyed this book it was good, but I felt there was something lacking. I get it was a short story and whilst good it just left me feeling well, then nothing? I really love James Patterson books but a little disappointed with this ending.
