Fun & dripping
It is very nice to read for understanding family dynamics and play of power in Indian towns! It has a drizzle of suspense and table spoon of comedy.

A delightful book
This is the kind of book that continues to feature in your thoughts long after you've put it down.Seldom are Indian middle-class families represented with such honesty. Aravind is a masterful observer, not letting any observation or dialogue go to waste. You should read it if you long for a book that makes you feel seen, and by you, I mean the reality of your lived world. The kind of families we see, the parents we must all deal with, and the society we live in.

The details are read worthy
English is rich , story keeps you in a suspense , and the detailing its 10/10.

A bit underwhelming
Very slow, for a long time you get the feeling that the story doesn't go anywhere. I wouldn't know if it ends up going anywhere because I'm yet to get past 120 pages. I wasn't expecting a Chetan Bhagat type of novel but this is just incredibly difficult to get through. Lovely cover art though.

Well written, treated with humour, will laugh out loud in many instances. Very original!

Can't wait to read more of this author!
By all accounts a fun read with a sprinkle of snort-out-loud sentences that compliment the intriguing setting - one that, however, could have benefited with a more tightly knit narrative. This was a genuinely well-written tale of inter-generational Indian societies and the tension between tradition and modernity. Also loved the fact that the character remain unnamed.
