Pros:+ Available in a huge range of sizes and widths+ Made in the U.S.A.+ Comfortable for a range of activities, from casual wear through walking, hiking, boating, roof maintenance, moderate running, etc.We (spouse and self) have purchased multiple pairs of these, over decades. We both have wide feet. We have had virtually zero success in finding shoes that fit in any stores. Many years ago, though one of us stumbled up on a pair of these in EEEE width. Those widths are still hard to find in stores, but we are happy that we can find them to order on line. Because they fit well, we find ourselves wearing them even for situations where some people may consider them too informal-- just because we can't find more formal-looking shoes that fit.Warning: You do need to expect to replace these every few years, even if you don't wear them a lot. As with every other pair of shoes we have owned that has molded foam soles, the foam on these eventually decomposes and turns to dust. We have observed this with other brands and models, also, including some rather expensive hiking boots of another brand.

I've been wearing the 990 series for 11 years. Best shoes for my feet. For me, these Version 4 are the best so far. I wear a B width, and for years my size was only available in grey. Finally I have an additional choice, and I think the navy blue look great.These shoes come in a variety of widths. To get the most benefit from them, you need to know your correct length and width. They consistently run true to size, so once you know your correct size, you're good to go.Another plus: Made in the USA!

Absolute, wholehearted endorsement!! Great stability. I can't tell you how many pairs of shoes I've gone through; I've been running in these shoes (and their previous equivalents) for over 20 years. As former military running has been part of my routine since I was young. I never paid much attention to my shoes until I was in my late 30's. I started noticing some aching in my knees, and I was worried about damage from running. One of my colleagues recommended these shoes, and the pain in my knees disappeared. The cushioning and support was that good. I've never run in anything else since. Recently I had to see a podiatrist for an exam. I told him I ran regularly, and he asked what shoe I used. When I told him, he heartily approved and said that as long as I continued to wear them when I ran, I should be able to run regularly into my retirement.

These shoes are awesome. Been wearing $120 Asics for the last 3 years and loved 'em, but these are WAY better and I can feel the difference. Fits perfect, very sturdy and well built. Well worth paying a little more for a great shoe. Plus they're MADE IN AMERICA. I feel like a winner wearing these shoes. I will never get tired of winning!Update 2019: Now on my 3rd pair of these, I hope they never stop making them or I’ll have to buy a dozen.

I checked the amazon app on my iphone this morning for this incoming shoes cost me about 150 dollars, but the package tracking details said that the package was delivered to another town five miles away. Then I double-checked the front door of my apartment and surprisingly found my package. The incorrect detail of package delivery was acceptable but caused a bit of misunderstanding.So come to the shoes. The shoes are the first pair of New Balance I own, to which my first impression is great but not impeccable. Here is some pros and cons:Pros:Good support cushion: Compared to my Asics GT2000 v3, which has soft cushion, these New Balance shoes have more rigid cushion. And that means the Asics shoes have more wrapping than supporting feels on my feet, and the New Balance shoes have more supporting than wrapping (the other way around). This is a good thing to me, because I need two pairs of shoes with different designs so I won't get bored of wearing them.Warm: This New Balance shoes feel warm. Because the weather is getting colder in Autumn, I definitely need a pair of shoes that feel warm.Moderate length of shoelaces: Not too long, not too short, the shoelaces have just length and I have no worry about walking on the shoes whileaccidentally stepping on the shoelace and get them loose.Con:Some damages on the shoe tongue of both shoes, you can definitely hide the flaws under the shoelace and mouth of the shoe. Not big deal but I think a pair of 150 dollars shoes should be perfect.Overall I have very good first impression to these shoes and I wish I can have satisfied experience wearing them.Rated on 10/9/2016 in the morning.

Just got the shoes today so my comment that it is "Somewhat small" may be a bit premature. The rating is based on the width as I wear a 4E and it is difficult to find shoes that wide. These feel a bit narrow but as stated; just got them today. (UPDATE: After one day the shoes fit as expected.) I will wear them for a few days then revisit this review with an update. Build quality appears excellent. I was looking for a Running Shoe that had some substance and a bit a stiffness and this show certainly meets that description. I have been wearing New Balance Shoes for years and have always found them to be good shoes. I bought a pair in Singapore years ago that I love but they are wore completely out so hoping this shoe will replace those.

Nach langer Suche und auch einigen Schuhversuchen habe ich endlich welche gefunden die für meine Halluxfüßen passen. Sicherlich ist der Preis schon sehr hoch ,nachdem ich mit anderen ( Brooks,Asics,usw.) kein Glück hatte bin ich nun froh diese zu besitzen. Es läuft sich sehr gut darin sehr bequem und ordentlich Platz und das ganze in meiner sonst üblichen Größe. Das mit dem 4E macht den Vorteil für meine breiten Füßen.Lieferung war ich etwas skeptisch von USA über Israel dann Leibzig hat erfreulich schnell und gut geklappt. Würde ich in einerer anderen Farbe nochmals kaufen. Super!

OK ein bisschen teuer
