Nothing Unfortunate Here!
I ordered this for my sons birthday since he loves Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events books. He was really happy with this game. We haven't had a chance to play it yet but I think we will enjoy it!

Item Advertised as New, Was Damaged r
I paid double the average cost for this item, which was advertised as new. It was intended as a gift and went directly to the recipient’s house. It arrived shrink wrapped but clearly damaged. I was angry that I had paid so much for a damaged product and embarrassed that I gave someone a damaged gift.

Glad I found it
I actually found this game at a thrift store- and was so excited because my 9yo loved this book series. I have to say, at first the game was a big flop. There ARE a lot of aspects going on to beat Olaf, and can be overwhelming and a quick and boring game for everyone. BUT, as the kids played more, it became challenge for me (Olaf) to win. This game will take you 45 min to an hour of playtime. And yeah, it's a little steep in price here, but actually the good boardgames are $40 + (ticket to ride, catan jr, etc) and this one, after playing about 8 times to get the hang of all the aspects, is on par with those games too.My board is not flimsy nor does it look like it's about to split or rip at a seam. The peices, I have to say, you need to be careful with, as my son who is heavy handed almost bent Klaus because he has the skinniest part at the ankles, but this is our problem, not the quality of the game, and when it finally breaks I feel confident superglue will suffice. If you like this series, if you like board games for real, this is a good addition!

The board split apart as soon as we opened it.
The game looks fun and is, but when I opened the playing board, it cracked in half. I had to tape the board together. It was not made well at all. What happened to the way they used to make game boards. I have some that are 40 years old and they are still opening and closing perfectly. Cheap game. Stay away!

Again used as a gift
The person loved it! It was used as a gift and depicted a certain relevant persective. The idea was to express in fun a number of unfortunte events.

Playing this is an "Unfortunate Event"
I bought this game for my son. It is a confusing mess! Each player is in charge of too many charecters and there are a ridiculous amount of rules. It is way too challenging to understand and even harder to play. What a shame...it could have been a fun game.
