Helpful tool for identifying the characters who make up our inner round table!
I've read this book twice since purchasing it a few years back. I have notes all over it (in pencil!)and refer back to it often. Our inner life is often challenging to navigate. This helpful book serves asa wise guide to identify and work with our inner energies. I have been able to integrate a lot of whatChelsea has recommended. It helped me to remind myself when outside events trigger inner chatterto question whose voice is speaking. This book has helped me stay centered and balanced with mySelf at the head of the inner table!

You actually CAN negotiate your own inner peace treaty
Negotiating Your Inner Peace Treaty is one of the most helpful books I have ever read. The information is presented in an easy-to-read, step-by-step manner, so that even if you've never heard of Jungian archetypes, you'll be able to identify your inner characters and get them talking to each other. What I especially liked about this book is the way it helps the reader process uncomfortable feelings and thoughts. So, instead of a rah-rah, you-can-do-it pep talk to drown out negative thoughts and feelings, this book helps you to actually listen to the negative things and find the nuggets of gold they hold that can help you change your life.

Get to know your inner self (selves)
The author provides a practical framework for coping with inner distress -- moving beyond fear, panic, anxiety, and racing thoughts to clarity, hope and purpose. Stories of real people give life to the concepts. The book is easy to read, not academic, but I could wish for a few more drawings or diagrams to illustrate the workings of the "inner round table." Overall a very helpful book; I've read it twice, along with some material from her footnotes. CCoop

A deep look inward and outward. Excellent read.
If you are a deep thinker and view your life as a journey, this is a wonderful read. This book helped me understand who I am. My wife and I have both read it and it has helped us in our marriage and has made us more aware of each other and how we communicate. Her philosophy of our lives being made up of many different selves that have been established throughout our life experiences resonates with me. I have had the privilege to meet with Dr. Wakefield and she is very smart on life stuff. Her book is a continuation of her counsel. I would highly recommend this book to those who want more out of life and are seeking a deeper relationship with those around you and a deeper relationship with yourself.

A wise and helpful resource
This book is well-written and very easy to read. The author's voice sounds like an incredibly wise woman who is speaking to me in very gentle tones. Chelsea Wakefield has clearly walked this walk and shares generously from her own heart. In reading the book, I felt well taken care of, while being strongly but tenderly encouraged to do the work. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who is searching for a gentle way to soften the voices in his/her head.

Not what I was expecting.
It took me about half of the book to realize that it wasn't going to turn in to a Hollow Earth Fantasy novel. Nor would there be airships, air gondolas or other prospective turn of the century world fair gizmometry abound in this text. I thought the main character was neat, would've been better with steam ships, steam punk or other things needed to actually negotiate a peace treaty with the Hollow Earth beings.I'd suggest Jules Vernes 20,000 Leagues under the sea instead of this. You'll feel better about yourself too! Bonus points!
