Love this instructor
Love this instructor, yes he does stop for about 15 secs to describe the next move BUT if you feel your heart rate dropping, just jog in place once your used to the workouts

not for people who are currently fit or have little space to work with
ok i guess if you're starting at a point where you really don't exercise and never have very much. also, i didn't like that it needed so much room. using the floor placement things took up way too much space. this work out just didn't meet my needs or fitness level. even 'harder' workouts like p90x require much less space.

Good low impact cardio workout.
I am not a Beachbody coach and get no monetary reward for writing this review; I do it so you can decide whether to buy it for yourself. I have a lot of experience with Beachbody and have done many of their programs so I wanted to try this workout.Shift Shop is essentially a cardio-based workout where you do a series of repetitive movements in a defined time period (usually a minute) for maximum reps. You alternate between two workouts, Speed and Strength, for three weeks, each week adds 10 minutes to the length of the workout also adding a series of intervals and rounds (which I think makes it more interesting in weeks 2 and 3).Speed is essentially a speed and agility workout, (think P90X3 Agility X or Insanity Speed and Agility) where you move between a series of agility markers. You are going to need some room to lay out the markers, I needed about an 8 foot square space. Strength is also a cardio workout but one where you use dumbbells (sort of like P90X3 CVX or Body Beast Cardio). I think most people could get by with one pair of dumbbells if they needed to buy them for the workout, maybe 5 – 10 lbs. for most women and 15-20 lbs. for most men. The trick to both Speed and Strength is to pace yourself; I really was never sore from any of the workouts, as the weight needed to be pretty low to complete the time limit. There are two other workouts included in Shift Shop, Core and Mobility. Core is approximately12 minutes of medium intensity core work; nothing like a Shawn T core workout but still plenty of sit ups and crunches. Mobility is the obligatory stretching program that seems to come with every new Beachbody issue.I bought the deluxe version to see what it was about and, if you have experience with Beachbody, you know that the deluxe versions are either essential (P90X2) or a rip off (P90X3). This one was an additional higher intensity week (50 minutes) with a sandbag. Personally I didn’t think it was worth the money they were charging. The nutrition plan that is included in Shift Shop is a three-week “ketogenic” (low carb) plan where you gradually reduce your carb intake to zero. I have never been much of a fan of these types of diets and I found myself running out of gas by week 3. In this plan they not only tell you how to eat but what to eat, which would be pretty handy for someone who is first starting out on the path to better nutrition. You are given four potential meal plans: A, B, C or D, depending on your gender, weight, etc. I track all my calories and one thing I noticed is that these meal plans seem to target the lowest end of the calorie range in the plan, so if you are tracking at the upper range you’ll need to up the food intake.I thought Shift Shop was a good medium intensity cardio workout and, at only three weeks, made a great break for people like me who hate cardio. If you dedicate yourself to working hard you can burn quite a few calories in the three weeks, especially once the workouts get to 45 minutes; I lost 8 pounds and 2 inches off my waist. I liked that the cardio was much lower impact than Insanity although; with only two workouts a week, it got a bit tedious towards the end. Chris Dowling the trainer was motivational without being folksy or a drill sergeant. I liked that the “modifier” in these workouts looked like a normal person who would need to modify as opposed to a fitness trainer doing the moves. I think it would make a good entry into fitness for those making the attempt and would make a good cardio alternative for those who are trying to avoid high impact “plyometric” type workouts.
