Yes. Excellent for days with menstrual cycle heavy flow, post partum bleeding or urinary incontinence (light bladder leakage).

Q: Will wearing pads that have wings cause a leak with these panties?

Depends on how heavy your periods are. I have extremely heavy periods (I use maternity pads) and Find that the crotch area does not offer enough barrier against leaks. The back part however works well because the fluid barrier is wider so i find that it keeps the leak in during the night—for the most part. It doesn’t work 100% for me because of my heavy periods (however it’s better than not having an additional barrier)

Menstrual panties aren't made to be used as swimwear, so no they can't be worn in the pool or when swimming.
