A truly fine knife
It's a little early to leave a review, (we've only had the knife for several days thus far) but I will post at least a provisional one, and then update it later if there is anything left to add.First off, the Dalstrong Nakiri knife comes very nicely packaged.I rather felt that the presentation was very suitable for a high quality knife...so very nicely done there, Dalstrong. And now, the vital part: the knife itself.I consider myself somewhat of a knife 'buff' and this one pretty much checks all the boxes. It's very nicely weighted and balanced. It really feels comfortable in the hand.It comes with a very sharp factory edge (which I've already honed just slightly finer),and it's doing an excellent job on the veggies.Keep in mind that this knife has a pretty specific purpose. You could for example, utilize it for peeling carrots, and it would do the job, but that's not the sort of thing it's intended for.How durable is it, and does it hold it's edge?As always, time will tell. But for the present moment, I'm very pleased with my Dalstrong knives (I don't often hand out 5-Star reviews)and hope to add more of them to our future collection.

Beauty, Function, Design: OUTSTANDING!
I love using this knife! I love it to the degree that I am disappointed when I have nothing left to prep! The balance and design are so good that the knife feels like an extension of my hand; I just know how each cut is going to turn out. THAT my friends is the very definition of ERGONOMICS! RAZOR SHARP + AWESOME BALANCE &CONTROL! 5-Stars!Update 4/29/20 -- I have been using this knife regularly since it arrived. My Shogun Nakiri knife truly IS a "vegetable assassin," stealthily quiet and impressively efficient, this crafted tool glides through mounds of vegetables effortlessly! The "kicker" is that I am now eating more vegetables... (Yes Mom, it's true!).Okay, so I am a kitchen knife "geek." No apologies. For what it's worth I would quickly point out any flaws if any existed. Dalstrong sets a high bar for quality. The Shogun Nikiri knife clears it with aplomb!Update 05/08/2020 - I felt compelled to add this update as I have been using my Dahlstrong Shogun Series Nakiri knife virtually every day since my original post. It is still keenly sharp without once reaching for my ceramic boning rod. I have come to respect Dalstrong's quality in design and manufacturing even more. This knife has become my favorite. It feels so natural in my hand: nimble and exacting. Purchased one for my younger son; my oldest already has a Nakiri knife. He may soon own two. Great product!

so good. I am a former culinary school graduate that ...
So far, so good. I am a former culinary school graduate that is not currently working in the business. But I am an enthusiast home cook and I spend much of my time prepping produce while trying to reduce my weight. I heard of this brand from Burrificiation on YouTube and I'd heard concerns on Reddit about the longevity of this line of knives (very hard hardness, hollow grind, narrow angle) but even people that questioned Dalstrong seemed to like the customer service. And the 4 month return policy convinced me to give it a try. And so far I'm happyI tried out a few Nakiri knives at Sur La Table and a local knife store (Phoenix Knife House in Phoenix, AZ). I wanted a nakiri since most of my food prep is vegetables (tomato, onion, mushroom, chilis, etc). I will say that this is the... beefiest of the nakiris I tested. It is heavier and a taller blade. Other reviews say it feels more like a Chinese cleaver and I'd say it does feel bigger than many Japanese style nakiris. But I have fairly big hands. And my only "nice" knife that I owned for years was a 7" Santuko from Miyabi. I was used to heavier knives and I'm not spending hours working on the line so I don't have to worry about fatigue. And the fit of this knife fits my hand perfectly. My wife has smaller hands and absolutely hates the feel of it. She prefers her 5.5" Shun Santuko. But for me this feels great and it looks great. Time will tell how it holds up but after a week or 2 of heavy use (at least for a home cook) it still has that out of the box edge.I've got a 200, 1000, and 8000 whetstone along with a leather strop and ceramic rod. So I should be able to maintain my edge well. I've run it on the rod a couple of times but have not messed with the stone yet. If I have any issues in the future I'll update. But so far I'm very happy.

Gran cuchillo
Cuchillo de gran calidad, pesa un poco, pero lo bueno de ello es que hace el corte mas sencillo.Tiene un buen filo, corta las verduras como si de mantequilla se tratase.

Both a workhorse and stunning piece of craftsmanship.
DALSTRONG Nakiri Vegetable Knife - Shogun Series X - AUS-10V- Vacuum Treated - Hammered Finish - 6" (152mm)Thanks to Amazon Prime this came within two days, even during Christmas rush. The Dalstrong Nakiri came literally scalpel sharp, in beautiful packaging which the knife will be kept in for travel till I get a Chef knife roll case for my Dalstrong knife set.The craftsmanship if 1st rate, stunning knife which would make any Chef proud to own and use. As a student cook, working to become a Canadian Red Seal Chef, I take a lot of personal pride in having a knife of this quality and standard which will last a lifetime with proper care. Lastly I would like to say that in my opinion this knife is as much a thing of art as it is a tool of the trade in the kitchen. I would readily suggest this to any friend or co-worker.A suggestion to Dalstrong would be that they create their own high quality roll knife case for those who want to own many of their knives when travelling or for work. This would give added protection, ease of use and pride in ownership.

Tolle Optik und Haptik
Ein sehr schönes und zugleich scharfes Messer. Bin alles andere als ein Profikoch aber koche hobbymäßig sehr gerne und dieses Messer hat mich überzeugt.
