Finding The Lost Girl In You
What’s a girl to do that feels like things have not lined up or that too much has happened to get back on track? What about the you that’s supposed to be but it’s not who you are? I was walking through a very devastating divorce as I was reading this book. When I received the book I was depleted, disappointed and didn’t think I could hold my head up or even dream again. This book met me in the place that I was in. This book is very conversational , powerful and laced with transparency. It’s as if Chrystal is sitting with you personally on your couch in your living room or favorite coffee houses. I found this book to be life giving the chapters are easy to read but very powerful and transforming. The book is broken down into six parts each section will encourage and give renewed hope if you absorb the truths that are being given . From the moment that I opened the book I found it to be healing for me. The entire book was a favorite for me. Fight for your life was a beautiful chapter for me . I like when Chrystal said “ Be brave enough to believe that a uniquely beautiful life can be yours.” Chrystal reminds us in the book from the start that “You are allowed to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress.” The book has reflections at the end of each chapter. I am very pleased to have been given a advance copy to read the book did not disappoint. I believe and know that this book is divine timing for me. God used Chrystal greatly with the writing of this book. If you apply the Jewels in this book to your life and unique circumstances you will be blessed and on your way.

She's Still There helps you reconnect and rediscover the girl in you
OMG! There are so many adjectives and verbs I could use to describe Chrystal’s new book. From the Foreword by Priscilla Shirer I was in utter tears. Every chapter I could see an area in my life that connected with Chrystal’s. At every turn of the page I kept thinking, “Chrystal is my SISTER!” This book was (is) so relatable to my life. From Chrystal getting pregnant young, being a single parent, our love for a Hershey bar with almonds, to the recent health issues of my husband. What I loved most was not just being able to see areas of my life, but seeing how Chrystal took those hard places and applied Biblical passages that allows me to see God in not just her journey, but my journey. If I didn’t know better, I would think this book was made SOLELY FOR ME! The book is great because it is a combo (to me) of a devotional with real-life tangible application that points you to Jesus. At the end of each chapter there is a “Reflection for the Rescue.” In this section, there are Three R’s: Remember (Like a recap of the chapter), Reflect (questions to reflect on your Rescue Journey), and Response (Being vulnerable, sharing with a trusted friend, identifying the next step of the Rescue). I can’t lie, Reflections for the Rescue caused me to take a long hard and sometimes painful look at the girl I placed on hold; how and what I needed to do to RESCUE her. She’s Still There helps you reconnect...rediscover the girl in you. But most importantly, it connects you to the girl…the woman you are meant to be in CHRIST. This is a great book and a great read for women of all ages who are looking at their lives and asking God, “Where am I? How did I get her? And how do I find my way back to the person…the girl…the woman You created me to be?”

Good message
This is a great study for ladies who feel they've lost themselves while going thru life...but I gave it 4 stars because I felt like the author goes off on a tangent about knowing yourself and loving yourself...a little too hippy-dippy for my taste...but just in spots...the overall theme and message is great...

Lost Now Found
As a wife for over 21 years, mother, stepmother, grandmother, homeschooling family for 16 years and counting, in home daycare provider, and active in children's ministry...I got lost. I look in the mirror and I don't quite recognize my reflection. Yes, there are extra pounds, gray hair, and many physical changes. But, it's the inner me looking back at a stranger. I was beginning to lose my fire and passion as His daughter under layers of disappointments, struggles, unmet expectations and the reality of life. Entering a new season of life as my roles are drastically changing as my children are growing up, I wondered if there was a glimpse of the woman I long to be still inside. Chrystal Evans Hurst helped answer that question with this new book. I can unequivocally say, "Yes, She's Still There!" With her authentic, transparent writing I began finding myself in the pages of her book. With her practical and thought provoking questions and tools, I was able to begin to peel back layer and layer of things I was hiding behind and could begin to break chains that were holding me captive. Though I'm still a work in progress, this inspired book has been an incredible catalyst in finding myself again. I'm still not exactly sure what my next season of life will look like, but I'm walking confidently and joyfully into it with a renewed sense of worth, passion and drive. If you're a woman struggling with a lost sense of identity, "She's Still There" is an incredible tool of rescue to help get your feet back on the right path. She shows us how to be both a masterpiece and a work in progress at the same time. It's never too late to find who you are meant to be, no matter how lost or off track you feel. She's still there!

Phenomenal book!
This book is phenomenal! It's written in readable chapters so that you can glean information if you even only have 60 seconds to read something. "She's Still There" serves a variety of audiences. If you’re discouraged in your current stage of life, this book provides the encouragement for where you are. If you’re confused about yourself, questioning whether or not you’re worth it, this book provides clarity. However, if you’re ready to take a step forward and do more with your life, this book gives you the necessary guidance. "She's Still There" encourages the reader to start loving herself wherever she is in life while empowering her to move forward. There are reflection questions at the end of each chapter which help the reader to dig deeper, unearth some things and find healing and restoration for other things as well. There are also scriptural references from the Bible, which provide a well-rounded context to what Chrystal is saying. She weaves story-telling into her encouragement so that the reader has proof that they’re not alone and testimony that these words have helped someone. She’s Still There is a book worth reading repeatedly. Get a highlighter, get a journal and a comfy pen. Settle in and immerse yourself into the work. Reconnect with that girl deep within.

Hidden gem
I bought this book on a recommendation from an online group... the online group was a disappointment but the book was a hidden gem! While the language Hurst uses (calling the "real" you inside the "girl") was a bit of a stretch for me, the message was golden: don't give up on your dreams! It's never too late. Written with honesty and vulnerability, in bite-sized pieces, it's been a refreshing journey for me.
