Get That Teaching Job!

What a great purchase! I have been searching for some time now for a suitable platform that would allow me to research/ support me with everything that I need when looking for a job in teaching- this book has it, and all in one place! I have been wanting to look for a SLT position for a while, but have not had the confidence to apply yet; or in that matter know where to begin to write a strong application. ‘Get That Teaching Job’ has been written for all different types/ levels of jobs that a teacher may be looking for; whether it be a first teaching job, middle leadership position or senior leadership position. The organisation of the chapters and content needs to be praised; very succinct, clear and precise; the working examples and online support that runs parallel is also invaluable. Being written by an Executive Head, this book is also able to give great insight into what an employer is looking for too. A great read!! 5 star recommendation!!

I have been to a few interviews for Deputy Head postions in a spcial school. My appication form gets me an interview each time, but then it seems like a lottery!! It's hard to second guess what each school is looking for and it's all very well folks saying, 'well if you're right for the job..!', but there is always more than one way of approaching any answer at interview. This book is a must if you are preparing for interviews of any position. It gives you the persepective of the employer and explains the lottery process well!! It gives a very good method of answering any question which enables you to present slick reponses. I haven't got that job yet, but feel with experience my interviews are getting better, more reflective of what I can do and what I'm like and the book certainly has given me more confidence and has helped enormously in interview technique. It really is a godsend from an author who clearly knows what they are talking about.

I brought this book as I am looking for an NQT job and wanted advice on the letter of application and tips on how to tailor it to the school. This book is a practical guide for teachers at all levels. The most useful part for me was the advice on the letter of application, examples of letters/ CV's and example questions asked at interviews. Definitely worth buying if you are a job hunter or a teacher looking to move to a senior position, as there is a whole section on becoming a middle and senior leader. Overall, I recommend this book to anyone who is trying to secure a teaching/ leadership position.

Had one or two useful tips but mostly aimed at secondary school teachers.

Having not applied for a new teaching position for a while, I was looking for inspiration as to how to write the perfect application for a promotion. 'Get that teaching job' is exactly what I needed; packed with useful tips for how to tailor an application to suit you and the position that you are applying for, down to how to present yourself at interview. As a result, I gained my promotion and have recommended 'Get that teaching job' to my teacher friends ever since. A must for any teacher, at any stage in their career. Thank you, Paul Ainsworth!

Good but needs an update.First, it needs a little bit of upgrade about the NC 2014. Also, there are some obvious spelling mistakes!

An incredibly comprehensive guide, the author considers job applications from every angle and every tier of the profession. Packed full of practical ideas, it's an incredibly useful book to use personally or to put in your school's professional development library for colleagues across the school as I have done!

I have not applied for a new teaching job in 6 years and was daunted by the prospect. However, this publication really helped to guide me through the process of completing an application and the securing an interview. I did, in fact, get that teaching job. It was the second one that I applied for! Definately worth it!
