Well researched. Powerful!
Knowledgeably and powerfully written, The Other Girlfriend delivers on every level, oozing intrigue in the first chapter and evoking all the emotions. I am in awe of how the author presented us with a main character whose every vulnerability you can identify with – her guilt and how she deals with it is totally believable. I have to say there was one point where I was so angry with one of the characters (I’m deliberately not giving spoilers here) I felt my jaw tense. The story looks at the much misunderstood subject of agoraphobia and all its manifestations. It's about losing sight of yourself. Guilt. Self-loathing for those weaknesses you perceive in yourself and believe others will see. It looks at how you are diminished when, through coercion and manipulation, someone takes away the part of yourself that is fundamentally you. I really did experience all the emotions while reading The Other Girlfriend. Very close to the end, I had to stop – quite literally. In fact, I was so affected by the narration, I walked my dogs while I gathered myself. The protagonist’s growth throughout the story is inspiring, truly. Realising that all the coping mechanisms she employed weren’t her failures, but her strengths sent out a strong message. I’m quoting a line here that will stay with me: ‘I was my past. My choices. My Guilt. My fears. But I was also more than that. Or at least I could be.’ Utterly compelling reading, The Other Girlfriend is inspiring and I wouldn’t hesitate to highly recommend it. The ending was perfect and hugely satisfying. Well done, Alex Stone.

An enjoyable read
I liked the internal monologue of Lizzie and the way it describes the thought processes of someone suffering from anxiety and agoraphobia. I felt I learned something new. I also liked the neat little plot twist at the end. The pace of the narrative kept me page turning and resentful in the morning when I had to stop to start work!

ok
Good story, but very repetitive. It could have been finished in half the time if it wasn’t going over same ground.I predicted the end near the beginning of the story.

Very enjoyable story which kept me guessing.
I really enjoyed this book. It was very different from any other book I have read.It just shows how manipulative someone can be and take away another person's ability to think for themselves. I felt sorry for Lizzie as she was so gullible and really disliked Tom for being so controlling.

Lots of questions very few answers
It’s an easy read for someone who doesn’t read complicated stories. I was irritated by the main character asking herself lots of questions and not really coming up with the answers. The story felt protracted and predictable at the same time. Overall a bit of a disappointment.

INFURIATING
I wanted to have more empathy with Lizzie/Beth but for most of the book, I just wanted to shake her hard. The red flags were flying, all the signs were there and still, she doubted herself. The solution at the end was neatly done, but the read was frustrating as I battled to maintain my own equilibrium as I turned the pages. However, that is a sign of a well-written book that it can take the reader so deeply into another world.

thrilling
This was a really good book , I read a LOT so I can usually have a guess at the ending , but not this time ! It’s a good look at the way we can build people up in our minds to be the person we want them to be and not the person they really are ! Touches on reality , it was good because I knew there was no point trying to second guess how it would all unfold so I just sat back and enjoyed the ride

this is good
This story is a good psychological thriller about a woman who has to find a way to cope with life after believing she deliberately killed another woman. She becomes obsessive compulsive, self-destructive and a little mentally unstable. Not badly written but I think in the hands of a really good author (think John Sandford) this would have taken on a tone of professionalism. I liked it but predicted the outcome.

Psychological manipulative read.....
I liked the story. Infact I found this book to be close to reality. There exists varied natured individuals in the society. Some are emotional, delusional, hyper sensitive etc. and some are manipulative who exhibits actions to support their own intentions although we can not exactly understand their actual intentions and we fall for their trick.I do recommend this book...The Other Girlfriend.

Wow!
Truly gripping. It seemed so wrong for everything to be pinned on Lizzy/Beth, but Tom's controlling behaviour certainly made the outcome totally plausible. Great read!

An engaging read
We live in a world of opposites. These opposing forces complete us. We then commence a unitary beneficial existence. This truth concludes this book.
