CousinDIY Precision Comfort Long-Nose Pliers

I like the color. It fits comfortably in my hand and easy to use once you figure it out. This was my first time using this kind of tool, so I had to learn. It was simple. I used it in making jewelry; worth the money.

The handle help with my trigger thumb I use them for jewelry making.

I had hoped the size of the long needle nose would have been smaller, more for detail work. The pliers themselves are very easy and good to use.

I love love love the Cousin pliers. I found these (and other pliers by Cousin) when I was searching for a different pair. I decided to try them because of the handle design and I am not disappointed! The style is much easier to hold and easier on the hands, which is great when you are doing wire working for hours on end. I even showed them to my beading group and they want some too!

2 years ago I reviewed these as "well made, well designed."In my picture, the set on the RIGHT was that well made and designed pair. A DREAM to use.Last week I bought another pair, thats the set on the right.Quality Control is GONE. The grips slip. They dont open nearly as far, I'd say half the distance my original pair does.The action of the spring of the new set is HEAVY, its about 2 pounds. Which is absolutely untenable when dealing with fine work. The finish seems rougher too. I never marred my wire with my original pair. the new ones have left marks on each loop.The grip strength to the spring is too much for comfort with long working. The original set (which is still the set pictured in this Amazon page) is a dream its a breeze, breath on them and the spring responds. Its beautiful.New version? Freaking get ready to do hand-squats. It throws off your precision. Its horrid.And they are WIDE. I am considering going back to my Walmart bought needle nose instead of continuing to use these new versions of an amazing old tool.WHY WHY WHY did quality die? What in profits name made you cut so many corners you DESTROYED the soul reason we bought your fantastic tool?

Package was opened and handles dirty, looked used!

The package the pliers came in was already opened, they look a little like someone may have used them as the handle has a few little marks but should work fine. I’m just not thrilled about paying the price for a new pair if they were returned, doesn’t that make them used?
