One of my families fav movies!
I love this movie. I have since I was a kid. There's no cursing or unnecessary explicit scenes. It's a good old fashioned comedy with not so much horror. Give it a chance. I doubt you will be disappointed.

Arsenic and Old Lace
This is one of my favorite movies. I like Cary Granat in this movie. He had been in other movies, but this one is the one I like him in the most.

You'll laugh till you cry
This movie is hilarious! Cary Grant is at his comedic best as a misogynist who wants to marry, after preaching to the world of how foolish marriage is. He lives with 2 aunts who are pure sweetness and light, and a cousin who is nutty as a fruitcake. He comes home, after dodging reporters, to tell his family of the marriage. While preparing a feast, a creepy secret the aunts have is exposed. Cary is floored. His new bride is getting impatient, as Cary keeps ignoring her or sending her away. When Cary hits on a solution, his evil, long lost brother turns up. And he came with guests. The nutty cousin--who thinks he's Roosevelt--constantly blows on a bugle. This brings police, which the evil brother doesn't want. The climax will have you cramped with laughter. Raymond Massey, Peter Lorre, and Jack Carson are just a few of the actors in this laughter riot. And it's captioned.

I liked the movie. It was funny and yet not to corny. The movie came on time and was just what I thought it would be.

Funny Screwball Comedy
It was a fun farce. Don't know why this movie cannot be shown on TCM in the Canadian market.

Cary Grant at his double-take best.
This was one of my Dad's favourite films, and one of mine too. Even my 19 and 23 year old sons (at the time of viewing) like it. -My wife less so, but then; she isn't really keen on screwball comedies. Although at times "Bringing up Baby" had her in stitches."Arsenic and Old Lace" is one of the better screwball comedies and with Peter Lorre & Boris Karloff in supporting roles it really is a bit of a gem. So I'll have my usual moan over the lack of a UK release for this very funny film. Especially since it has been released by the Criterion Collection and therefore looks and sounds fantastic. Could they not have stretched to a UK release also; -after all Archie Leach was born in Bristol.

Great restoration
This film is a classic. It’s funny and scary all at the same time. My best friend and I refer to our underground parking garages as Panama, and often yell “charge” when running up the stairs. But the thing that really won for me was the quality of the restoration. Just faultless

One of the best comedies ever made
This must be one of the most hilarious films ever made. A very gripping plot with a lot of suspense and a black comedy at the same time. This is probably Carry Grant's best performance on film. The rest of the cast is also outstanding and a joy to watch. The Criterion Collection BluRay has been given an excellent transfer with a high definition black and white picture, an immense improvement on the old DVD of the same film. The disc comes with a nice illustrated booklet. Highly recommended.
