Very Useful
I purchased this book so I would have a concise list of the birds in my backyard and surrounding states. I have the larger bird guide, but it is time-consuming to look through pages and pages of birds which may not be indigenous to New England. This guide gives each bird one page of detailed images and a little chart with the bird's range, as well as info on size, habitat, voice, feeding habits and more. The book is also small and light enough to keep by your side as you sip your morning coffee, binoculars in hand, enjoying the many feathered visitors to your feeders. Highly recommend!

BEst EVer, yes spelled like that !!!
I have bought 10-18 bird books for my back yard bird watching. THIS IS THE BEST !! It gives you the correct photo and explanation. Even one when that type of bird should not be there !! And is !!! We really like this the best and am going to buy another because we can never find where I or my wife put it last . This is the bible for back yard bird watching.

A solid resource
This is a great book with pictures from different angles and of both sexes. I have found a few birds that don't appear to be in this, or have a higher degree of variability in color and form but by and large it is helping me to identify the birds in my yard.

Great book
A well-illustrated and organized book, with plastic-covered pages. Pictures show both the male and female examples of each species, with key notes regarding their habits and habitats. We keep this book on the window sill near the feeders and have identified 20+ birds we didn't realize were living in our southern NH woods.

NE Birds
I like this book very much. I have one and wanted my daughter and her children to enjoy one also. I like that it is just New England birds and I don't have to go through pages and pages of birds that I will never see.
