Multi-needle embroidery machines do not come with bobbin winders and it is not possible to wind bobbins for the multi-needle machine on another sewing machine. To achieve the best results when monogramming it is advisable to use exactly the same colored thread in the bobbin as in the top stitching. Prewound bobbins, other than basic black and white, as not in the variety of colored threads, so a bobbin winder is a necessity.

I know that as a newbie I shouldn’t be purchasing anything and everything sewing related but I love tools and after reading that the built-in bobbin winders in some vintage machines aren’t the best, I went ahead and got this thing. It works great and it’s so fast! The only thing is it might have a tendency to overfill some bobbins like the class 15 which are smaller but you can program a custom number of winds (tool comes with a chart with the average number of winds for brands and class of bobbins) or if you’re lazy like me just keep an eye on it so you can hit the stop button. Highly recommended! I don’t drill mine down or anything I find that it’s sturdy enough for me to just set it on the table.

The winder works just fine but you MUST NOT overwind/overfill the bobbin. Stay a few millimeters from the edge or it will cause tangles in your bobbin case. That is not a reflection on the winder but that is user error

Bought for birthday gift. She is happy.
