Sophie la girafe: Peekaboo Sophie! Board book – Lift the flap, June 17, 2013

My 9 month old niece loves this. I watch her several times a week, and reading this book is basically her favorite thing to do. We can read it over and over in a row and she doesn't get bored. She figured out how to turn the pages on her own pretty quickly. I always hesitate before opening the flap and she gets quiet and still in anticipation for... PEEK A BOO!! Then she giggles and screams and dives her hands right in. Because of course it only took 2 or 3 readings to figure out the best part is touching the pages. She really loves the texture of the bubble page, it's her favorite. Definitely buying this for every future baby event.

Adorable! The entire Sophie line is simply adorable. Wonderful gifts, this little animal is so cute! In my experience, the Sophie books and toys seem to get a lot of use, and tend to stand out among other books and toys.

My 7 month old son is a huge Sophie fan. He has two of the teethers and one of the plush ones. If I put half a dozen toys in front of him and include Sophie, he goes for her every time. When I saw these books, I pre-ordered them because I knew he would love them. He does! When we read it together, he squealed when he recognized Sophie. The book had nice illustrations and textures for baby to touch. There are pages that flip out so that you can find Sophie's friends. This could get torn up easily by a baby, so it may not be a book that you want your child to have "free reign" over.No, it doesn't have much of a plot, but what do you expect from a baby board book? I would probably label it as 0-3 instead of preschool to kindergarten like Amazon did. Babies are going to be the ones to recognize the character, and if you have a baby who loves Sophie, he or she will probably enjoy this book.

Very cute and pictures stimulate while the touch makes the book interactive. My 6 month old loves the cute faces especially 😁👌

This is by far our favorite Sophie the Giraffe book in our house. The cardboard flaps are thick and durable, allowing my 10 month old to flip them herself (one of her new favorite activities). The textures are fun and she loves to find them and feel them. I love this book so much that I'm planning on giving it at baby showers in the future!

I wanted to include a book with the quilt and burp cloths that I made as a gift for my sister's new baby. The quilt and burp cloths have a giraffe theme since that is my sister's favorite animal. So I figured I would take the leap and pick this book. It is adorable, I read it to my 3 and 4 year old and they enjoyed it. Would recommend to a friend.

This book is a favorite at our house! We have been reading it multiple times a day it seems since our daughter was 4 or 5 months old (now just over a year old).After a few reads, many children's books become so annoying, but surprisingly we still like reading Peekaboo Sophie even though we now have it memorized of course. Our daughter loves to do the actions ("give [Lazare] a pat!" and "touch Gabin's nose") and turn the pages herself. The pages are thick and easy to grasp for small hands, and the "peekaboo" flaps are pretty durable.My only recommendation would be to buy two from the start, so that you don't have to worry about fixing it when it falls apart after months of daily use!

My Grand-daughter loves Sophie as her teether so for Christmas I bought her this book. She is almost 7 months now and she absolutely loves this book and loves to play Peekaboo . I plan to buy her the other Sophie books for her Birthday in July. I would recommend this to anyone with little ones or for one on the way. :)

The book is clearly used. The amount I paid plus shipping I could have gotten it at Indigo.Lesson Learned. 6.99 retail and I paid 5.34 for used plus shipping. My bill was 17.00 and change.The book itself is no different from the assortment of peek a boo books just a different character.

This is such a good book for babies. I wasn't expecting much more than a cash-in from the Sophie toy, but it's turned out to be one of the best baby books we've bought so far.It has a double-benefit of being touch-and-feel as well as a lift-the-flap book, so it's really engaging for little ones.The 'story' itself is as entertaining as you'd imagine - Sophie looking around different rooms for her various friends, with each reveal having a touch sensation (rubber nose, soft material ears etc) and a little 'task' for baby ("Can you touch your nose?" etc). It's perfect.It's very hard-wearing and well-made, with thick board pages and strong (almost laminated) flaps. I've bought lots of lift-the-flap books - notably Donaldson/Sheffler's Tales From Acorn Wood, and the Spot books - and the Sophie book is the only one that hasn't been torn by over-enthusism.Recommended, whether your baby has the Sophie toy or not they'll love this book.
