These are very pretty and look as pictured. However, the inside area is only about 1.25" deep, not the full 2 inches. A tea light will fit but not a standard votive candle. They are actually reversible. If you flip them over, they have an opening that will fit a taper candle. For this reason, half of the depth of the holder is used up. They were not what I expected because of the depth but they are really nice and can be used for tapers as well. They are a good value. Just beware that the candle area depth is only half the depth of the overall holder.

I love the way the ridged glass filters the lights. I bought 2 of the variations of the clear glass here and both are really pretty, each in a different way. I think these are prettier than any of the faceted crystal candle holders I have tried over the years. The vertical ridges enhance and exaggerate the candle light, as well as softening it. It's one of the prettiest candle diffusers I have ever seen. I use it for votive candles. I don't think larger candles would work well in it. Inserting a shorter candle creates a larger region of diffused light in the space above. And the holders are not very wide for anything larger than a votive. I recommend these highly. I just wish they came in even more shapes and sizes, like a holder for 3"-5" wide candles, because the basic design of the holder is so good at filtering candlelight beautifully.

These candle holders would have been perfect if they were actually 2.25" deep - instead it only is about an inch deep. I was looking for votive holders just a bit over 2" tall and with a diameter between 1.75-2" so that my Yankee candle votives would fit snugly inside, since Yankee is not currently selling holders that fit perfectly. My reasoning behind this is that the votive will last a lot longer when the wax doesn't just drip down the sides of the votive!If you are looking for a holder for your votives or tapered candles, these are still beautiful. The glass is thick and heavy, so it feels like good quality, but it did not fit my needs and I hope that the listing gets updated to reflect the real dimensions of the item.

I bought these as a table setting for my Dad’s 72nd birthday and they worked out so well I bought another pack. They’re very sturdy so you don’t need to worry about starting a fire and the ribbing/striations add an elegant touch and some interest and movement while the flame flickers. These were an easy way to elevate the party and good for any occasion where you’re looking to dress up.

I ordered these because I liked the design and the smoked glass color. Within a few months the glass had chips in it and started to deteriorate. After I put it in the dishwasher, the color washed out. It clearly was not smoke glass, but a type of glass dye that washes off when cleaned.
