Never used the CD player in car and the measurements of this magnet fit exactly to cover the CD entry. After experimenting with all sorts of mounts and mounts with magnets, I was never happy with how it all looked and held. This Magnet bar looks almost like it belongs with the car.I used the cleaning wipes and then wiped the area with cleaning alcohol to dry out all oils on the plastic. The adhesive on the magnet is the 3M strong stuff. I know because I used that same 3M tape on other things and it feels impossible to take off once it dries on. What do I care? The whole Head unit on the car can be bought for $50 on eBay but I don't plan on taking this magnet off. The magnet is a rubbery type material and looks good enough to fit any aesthetic. Its slightly covering a button on each side of my head unit but the buttons are pressable since they are lower than the magnet is sitting.I stuck 2 of the 4 metal plates inside the iPad mini 5 cover without sticking them on. The iPad sticks to the Magnet bar like its not moving off. SO if you have been looking to mount your iPad mini over your Car head unit and then just grab it and go, this is your solution.My car is a Mazda CX-5 btw if you need this info for your own measurements. I bought two of these to try and mount my 12.9" iPad Pro and they worked very well. I attached them to the side of my nightstand and used the four included metal plates. The metal plates were placed strategically between the iPad and its silicone case. It holds the iPad very firmly with the case and the Apple smart cover with keyboard attached. I can even plug in the charging cable (which fits in the slot very snugly) without the iPad even moving. As long as the adhesive lasts, I'll be very happy with these.

It's a sleek, good looking piece of kit and once I found a flat surface it mounted nicely. It actually looks great on the black dashboard.Do yourself a favor before you remove the sticky tape cover and moved the device around until you find a flat surface before removing the cover. My original location looked flat but had a slight curve that would not permit a good fit. Suggestion: It would be great if Nekteck made this in flexible rubber.I really like it and plan to buy more for the other vehicles in our household.The reason for the 3 stars is that I only received half of the accessories. (1 round & 1 rectangle adhesive metal plate and 1 wet and 1 dry wipe). I am waiting for rectification and then will update my review respectively.UPDATE: Nekteck responded immediately and remedied. I love the this magnet,amazingly strong. I liked it so much I ordered another one. I took it over to a neighbor to show them how strong and priced so well. I made the mistake showing how strong the magnet was I used magnet on the frigerator OMG what a mistake I couldn’t get it off lol. I had to slide or better said I had push with a lot strength towards the side of the refrigerator so that it was partially off the side of the refrigerator so that I could grab on to it.OMG SUPER STRONG and at a great price.. you should know this be sure were your going to place it because once it’s placed that’s were it will stay....these photos are of what I did with one of my magnets in my car so I could use my IPad and have with in reach while driving mainly for music or audible books so I do not need to mess with it while driving...

I purchased the Nekteck magnetic phone car mount for my 2016 Mazda 3 (Axela). I was unable to mount where I had initially intended because the surface is not completely flat but I was able to mount it slightly above that onto the smooth surface beneath the center air vents. Only the top and very bottom of the sticky side is making contact as there is a gap in between the two surfaces... regardless of that fact this product holds on to my Samsung Galaxy Note 9 like a champ!Note: I let the magnetic strip set for several hours to gain maximum adhesion before attempting to place my phone on it as it's rather large and heavy. The product isn't too thick, it actually looks as if were part of the vehicle.

I use these next to my bed and have a magnet on my phone, tablet, Ipod, (yes I still use one!). I just stick them on and plug them in. I had cracked 2 phones previously by knocking them off my nightstand, this cured that problem. Also I play music off my tablet and this holds it vertical so I can see who s playing! They should make these for my car too(kidding). I do use it in my SUV too and no more sliding phones. NO MORE TRYING TO PICK UP MY CELL PHONE AT 75 mph BECAUSE IT FELL AT MY FEET!!! Hey it is a life saving device too!! It also allows me to answer calls while driving because I can see the screen.

This magnet is doing more than the description said it could. It’s holding an iPad Pro 9.7inch in an Otterbox Defender case. The magnetic pads are even between the hard plastic case and rubber to the defender, not on the outside of the case. Very impressed and pleased.

Works and sticks very well, but be warned, it's NOT made to be repositionable. If you try to take it off, it will bend and leave a lot of the adhesive gunk behind, which is a pain to remove. I should know because I had to, TWICE!Still, if you can manage to scrape the gunk off with a screwdriver or something, you can easily make it work with something else like mounting putty or heavy duty velcro, metal plates and epoxy and/or screws, etc. I did this and then mounted one to a hanging shelf by gluing it to metal elbow plates with epoxy and then screwing it to the shelf. It now holds up my computer keyboard. Nifty!
