Back to playing Civilizaton II on a 64 bit computer
Bought this product so I could play Civilization II (which I haven't been able because I owned the vanilla version (8 bit version)). Based on all the support groups, this version (32 bit) along with the patch would allow this to function on my computer. They were right! Although there are some glitches (doesn't run the world accomplishment, won't start without first clicking on the screen once selecting the start up icon). However, the most important part of being able to play this game works well.

I am not sure if what I am doing is the only way and would really like to have a conversation with tech support but can't ...
I am grateful that someone had the ability to retain the functionality of this game for the advanced platforms on newer PCs. It has always been the only game of its type that excels in what it was intended to do for the user, player satisfaction. It does have its quirks in its handling of "stacks." Not only does it have external stack issues as described - use Load function for Save. At some point the overflow occurs when the most recent city created (at bottom of stack or last city in stack) completes its production, it does not notify the user on the next turn and will indicate that the user failed to notice and needs to select another production item. This may be a result of the original programming and is not really a serious issue. My only complaint and this goes back to the original Meier game - when they decided to advance the game such as CIV III, IV, etc., what I would have preferred is more variability of the functionality of the game - not just more scenarios with bells and whistles.I have been using this for about eight weeks and managed to get it up and running on Win 7. It is necessary for me to go through about three links to get it to where it will run. I am not sure if what I am doing is the only way and would really like to have a conversation with tech support but can't seem to find how to make contact . . .

Best Game Ever
Still play this game even 20 years later, plan to never quit. This is for 32-bit computers Circa 1999 but with a little tinkering can still be made to work in new Systems. Or just look online at an old PC Liquidator seller and pick up an old laptop or something for cheap if you cherish this game as much as I do. I plan to play this game until I am in the grave.
