It is well executed, fully finished for use. It matches my dining table. I have used it for more than a month without problems.

As another reviewer mentioned, the wood this product is constructed from is porous or not properly treated. As a result, the mug "sweats" out whatever liquid is in it.It's a beautiful product, and I'm sure I'd love it if it actually held liquid.

Did have to widen the finger holes using a sharp carving knife.Good quality wood, although do use some sort of alcohol in it a few times to remove the residue dye/finish. Did notice it took four filling before I could let water set in it for a few hours. Still leaks some brown substance which I think comes from the wood. After a few months it cured in well.Have pain more for about the same quality. Wooden cups hold the heat in better and makes beverages taste better than metallic containers.

I don’t have any leaks like others. Though based on the uneven finish it probably could use another layer of finish/lacquer. I waxed mine after a few uses so probably helped with longevity

I got another of these kuksa style Nordic cups in a different style without the finger holes. I have been wanting to try these for a while since I saw them on Etsy. They were more expensive there and had runes carved into them, but I figured I could carve my own runes into this and use it to stuff my daughter's stocking on St. Nicholas day. She is 13 and would love this for drinking coffee, tea, or cider.This version looked less appealing when I opened the box at first glance, but upon getting it out, I found this is my favorite so far in trying this style of cup. I really like the finger holes and the darker color. Also, it looks more primitive to me and more like something from the past which is the effect I wanted.I will add that this is lighter in weight (3 7/8 oz) than the other one I tried (5 3/8 oz), and it's light enough that I wouldn't mind throwing this in a backpack when camping if I weren't disabled from chronic fatigue long-Covid. Prior to getting sick, our family liked back country camping where you have to hike in to set up your own camp site. This would work well for that.I included pictures with my hand to show the sizing and how the grip works.

The two finger holes in the handle give you a little more stability and comfort and won't swivel around on your finger. The cup is made from a nice piece of wood and is smooth and well polished and feels good in the hand. My wood of my cup is all brown, not the light and dark color shown in the listing so the color of your cup my vary. It is a handy size to carry with you and you can easily thread a cord through a finger hole and hang it from your belt. It is not the largest size of cup but you can easily pour yourself a second serving of water or coffee or whiskey etc.Great for reenactors or just a cool cup for everyday use.

Any liquid, such a bummer can’t use the cup
