Perfect for cooking me down
It’s been 32 degrees for the past three days here in Manchester UK. It’s fortunately a pretty rare event but when it happens I find it unbearable. Especially since my break-in two months ago as since then I keep the windows and the French windows locked at night. The fan is game changer. It wafts past me ruffling the voile curtains cooling me down. The only teeny fly in the ointment was the missing nut for the minute screw used to attach the two halves of the wire cover. The screw itself less than 1cm in length was rolling around the bottom of the box. The nut? Well maybe it’s there but I can’t see it. I need a magnet or better eyesight! If they had both been taped to the cardboard inside the box everything would have been perfect. I substituted a wire tie and that works fine. It’s just not as neat. The fan is lightweight, quiet, for me, on the lowest setting which is fine for my 10 foot square lounge. I can quite easily sleep through it.I am not sure how it’s going to hold up to twenty plus hours of use during the current heatwave. Time will tell. Otherwise it was a great buy. It’s wafting right now. Lovely.

Does the job but noisy and missing key part
This fan requires a small amount of assembly (rear cage, fan blades, front cage) which takes about five minutes. Unfortunately the fan came with a key component missing: the nut that holds the fan blade onto the motor spindle (!). Because of the hot weather I assembled it anyway and now make sure I don't tip it forward (the blade will drop of the motor shaft if I do) when I move it; when rotating the reduction of air pressure behind the blades ensures the fan stays on the shaft. The other issue with this fan is the resonant noise of the casing from the motor. The motor is hard coupled to the plastic casing, which then resonates with the motor when the fan is on; I'm going to look to decouple the motor from the casing with some form of compliant mounting. I also put some small silicon feet on the base of the fan, as the noise it makes travels through, and is amplified by, anything resonant (like a wooden table, floor, desk etc). On the positive side, I like the look of it (I purchased the black version) and if you can live the noise, and get a sample with everything included, it's worth it for the price.
