Bend the tab into a rain drop shape
This strap works great once you bend the tab correctly. The silicone-covered metal tab that goes into the sound hole needs to be bent into a raindrop shape to minimize contact with the sound board, or else the ukulele will lose resonance. See the pictures posted. It first needs to be bent slightly back at the joint so that it won't lie flat on the top of the soundboard, as shown. Then it needs to curve around and close like a rain drop shape. Gently slide it in place, poking your finger I to the gap to release some pressure while sliding the tab all the way in.

Nice strap, but long
CLOUDMUSIC Ukulele Strap Button Free Hawaiian Floral Ukulele Strap with Hook ClipI got this strap for a soprano ukulele that came without strap buttons. I wasn't keen on drilling into the ABS composite, so needed a strap with a hook. The strap is not at all wide--only 7/8". The soprano ukulele is so light that it's still a comfortable strap at that width, though for a larger ukulele I would want a wider strap. The inside of the strap is a soft, woven polyester that's similar to seatbelt material. There's a patterned ribbon sewn on top of it. The sliding buckle allows you to adjust the length of the strap. The silicone-coated hook arrives flat and you bend it where you want to fit the sound hole of your ukulele.Even at its shortest adjusted length, it's too long for where I like to hold my ukulele though. I'm 5'7", so not petite.

Great! hard to remove
This is such a cool idea, and it looks beautiful and works well. It's a bit hard to get back off of the ukulele again since the bend of the hook has to come around the strings.

Cute but not secure
Bought for the design on the strap but expected it to at least attach somewhat stabley..

Length is Completely Fine
I am convinced that all the reviews saying it's way too long and that it hits at your waist are using it incorrectly. The strap goes around your neck, under the ukulele, and up into the sound hole. This lets it cradle a little in the strap. If you hook it straight down into the top of the hole, yeah it sits absurdly long at your waist. So don't worry about those reviews. They had me worried, but I tried it anyway, and it's perfect.I know some folks have also complained it doesn't securely hold the ukulele. It's not supposed to. It provides support for standing and playing, giving you freedom to let go with a hand to turn pages, etc. I can't play standing without it. But it's not a shoulder strap. That's the tradeoff for not drilling a hole. If you're down for that style, you'll love it as I do.I worry a little about folding and unfolding the silica hook and weakening it, but I plan to simply leave it in place. For the price, you can't beat it.

Yes, I like it...
Not too long at all. Perhaps I have a newer model, or others have been using their’s incorrectly? With the strap around my neck, running behind and under my tenor uke, and clipped to the lower or A-string side of the sound hole, it fits me well (I am 5’10”). I mostly play seated, if that matters. The clip is heavily rubber-coated, so no worries about marring my instrument. Took a little trial-and-error to bend the clip perfectly to fit my uke, but I am admittedly fussy about such things. The strap is very attractive and well-made. The golden-orange floral pattern looks quite sassy with my golden-orange mahogany uke. 🌝 I come into town once a week to play with a very amateur ukulele group, and find the strap allows me to concentrate more on playing and less on supporting/positioning my instrument. Note: I need all the help I can get! And, as others have said, there was no way I was going to drill a hole into my uke, so this type of strap is ideal for me. Give it a try, be sure you are using it correctly, and I think you will be pleased.

It worked for me!
I primarily like this product because it works on my lyre. I have disabilities and wanted something to stabilize my lyre while I play it on my lap. Also, I like the pattern on the band. The band does not completely wrap around my instrument but for me it is good enough.

Length is Great!!
I read so many reviews about how incredibly long this strap is, but I have a sewing machine and know how to use it, so I decided to go for it. All I can figure is that some reviewers forgot how it is supposed to be used!!When passed down between myself and my uke, under the body of the ukulele, and into the bottom of the sound hole, it works well for me (5' 3" and shrinking...) near the shortest setting. I think the people saying it is too long must be hooking it over the top of the ukulele and on the top of the sound hole??? (And I have found that sometimes when I play seated I even like to lengthen it and rest the whole thing lower.)There is some beautiful inlay work in the wood around my sound hole that I was a little... hesitant about damaging. But I have been very happy with how it works and haven't seen any signs if wear or scratching in the last 2 months of use. (I'm not a daily player, but I have been fairly "regular" since I'm in a cycle of lessons since this came.)I didn't want to drill into my ukulele, so this has been perfect for me. Sometimes I wish I had a full-on strap that holds it independently, but I love this instrument as it is (I only play one ukulele, so you know its serious! LOL)!! So, this is works for me.

Way to short.
The strap is way to short to use as a connection via the bottom of ukulele. The strap was crossed over then stitched, thus does not show pattern on both sides. Right idea, just no one tried them in real life. Will work from top if you want the ukulele to hang out at bottom. The strap looks great but totally unusable.

Fel short
Unfortunately the “hook” is just too flimsy for my ukulele, this was a waste of money.
