Worked perfectly for the reference-book I was compiling for my art; sturdy and functional with good hardware
I purchased a total of 3 binders (two of this particular size/color, one of another size/color) for a massive project that was long overdue. See, I've been collecting fashion magazines for a few years because I like all the photos printed in them for art references to use when drawing/painting, but I got pretty fed up with the amount of space this collection took up (and how much of it was wasted with articles and pictures that I had no use for or interest in) and the fact that the photos weren't super accessible and couldn't be organized. So I decided that I'd slice free the pages that I wanted, put them in diamond clear page protectors from Avery, and then fit them in a binder so that I could easily access and organize all the magazine images while also significantly downsizing the amount of space used (I went from an entire 60 quart plastic storage tub filled to the brim with magazines down to a total of 4 binders; two 2-inch, one 3-inch, and one 1-inch; the gutted magazines were then taken to the recycle center). These binders definitely did just as I wanted them to! The D-rings work beautifully to hold the page protectors and allow me to flip through the pages as often as I like without a problem and quickly remove or add pages whenever and wherever I want. The covers are also pretty sturdy and have so far handled the amount of stuff I've put in them (around 175 page protectors stuffed with 1-4 glossy magazine pages each), which is very important since I'm using these binders as reference book resources and they will naturally get handled and used often. I definitely don't feel like the covers are going to rip or bend or split apart easily. Of course, I don't think I could necessarily treat them super roughly, but general use from shelving them, opening them, carrying them with me, etc. doesn't seem like it'll wreck them, which is exactly what I wanted! The only thing I'm not a big fan of is the fact that the strip with the D-rings isn't mounted to the spine, but to the back cover of the binder. I mean, it was to be expected, but I suppose I'm just so used to O-rings mounted to the spine that it's just a little different. Anyway, not a real downside since I kind of knew it would be like this since I chose a 2", not a 1" or 1.5" which are more standard sizes that can have spine-mounted rings without a problem. D-rings mounted on a spine would probably cause a problem with the pages would have to be shifted from the side to the middle every time the binder was opened or shut.Anyway, Avery is definitely a reliable brand that makes a quality project, so if you need a quality traditional binder for a project or work or school, I definitely give these my recommendation!

The best binders
I go through a lot of 1/2" three ring binders; I put music in them, mostly, and now my high school kid needs them for various subjects. Over the years, I have used many types of binders, and Avery's is pretty much the best around. These have the rough surface to minimize toner sticking, the D-rings to maximize capacity, and clear pockets on all sides including the spine.Literally the only thing to complain about is that it requires two hands to open the rings. But, only one hand is needed to close them. The rings have a powerful spring and snap together quite firmly. The binder is light, looks good, and is advertised as having extra strong hinges. Since I've only had this model for a few days, I can't speak to the long term durability, but so far, so good. I can already tell this is not one of those cheap binders that is going to start cracking at the (cheap plastic) hinge within a few weeks.I highly recommend these binders. In fact, shortly I'm going to order a few more, because my four-pack has already dwindled down to one!

Durable and handy
I bought these to hold my recipes so I use it most every day. I have found it easy to turn the pages and it lays flat so it's easy to read the recipe. I sometimes remove the recipe from the binder when I'm cooking and find it easy to open the rings to slip the recipe out and replace it. I love the design of the rings which makes it easy for me to flip through the recipe book. I have been very pleased with the quality of the binder for my purposes.

Durable and the best
These are the second set of these I bought. Here’s what I like:- D ring makes pages turn better- the press pads makes opening the rings easy- outer front and back have full length pockets. Very good for putting references in or decorative images- inner front and back have pockets for paper too- the first set I bought probably 6+ years ago and used constantly in school- the binder is small so it’s lighter to carry. I used it to keep the most recent papers and reference materials for my classes. And would remove stuff not used anymore into a bigger binder I kept at home

Price was nice BUT quality is poor
If you were buying these binders to put papers in and they sit on a shelf they would be a good value for your money. However, if you use them daily (I.E. opening/closing, adding/subtracting papers in binder) they are complete garbage. My son needed two 2 inch binders for school that he uses daily. After a couple of weeks he complained that they are falling apart (he takes care of his stuff). He taped parts back together, but after a couple of months we replaced them since we bought the 4 pack. Same thing happened with the next two binders lasted a couple weeks fell apart taped them and got a couple months out of them. This is why I like to wait to write a review to see if items last. These DO NOT!

MADE IN THE USA = HIGH QUALITY = LONG LASTING.
What's not to love? Avery is a staple in my life. From my home office to the kids' notebooks for school to recipes and photographs, you cannot outdo the quality for the price of Avery notebooks. The quality of this binder, the ability to insert a spine label and front cover? The smoothness of the slant D-ring mechanism which is well manufactured to last with repeated open/close clicks? Or perhaps the fact that the cover or back will not separate from the spine because it's well made? Oh - how about the sturdy construction that will allow your notebook to last through years of high school including bookbag and locker abuse? Well, it's all of the above. But the ultimate best thing about this notebook which was the the deciding factor for purchase was that it's USA made... and Amazon's got the best price as usual.

Purchased 2 of these in order to study material for a comprehensive exam for grad school. Totally helpful and durable. What else can I say about Avery binders? They're my first choice whenever I need binders. The slant rings are more helpful than the regular ones for my particular situation. Do wish the inside pockets were a bit more durable since I tend to put thick packets of paperwork in them.

Cheap, flimsy!!!
Very disappointed. Flimsy, came very dirty! I can’t believe how flimsy and cheap this binder feels. Quite shocked. Also full of scratches and marks.

Good binders
Avery make good binders and these are no exception. They are a little expensive but that seems to be the way binders are now.
