These things really massacre the wood as they are going through.Functionally you get a hole of the right diameter but then you have to spend ages cleaning it up afterwards with wood mess both on the entry and exit holes.The bits also tend to just drive in fast without properly cutting the wood and then get stuck if you are using a handheld drill.Overall you get better results basically from anything else out there (i.e. HSS bit, spade bit, hole saw or forstner bit)

Used this set to drill holes in aged wood with existing drill, I left out one star as the size of each attachment varies so not all will fit your drill which makes purchasing the whole set a little pointless without some kind of adapter. But it's a good quality product nonetheless.

I was worried that these might snap or go blunt when I was using them to make raised flower beds from sleepers. No problems at all - very easy to use to make accurate holes through and into sleepers. They even went through large knots in the sleepers with ease. I'm very happy with my purchase. They also come well packed in a plastic tube that's good for storage.

I used the 8mm drill bit to drill into a wooden sleeper and in the second hole the bit snapped and half remained in the hole! I wasn't using much force and I was drilling totally straight, not an an angle so not fit for purpose.Sent back and refundedCan't comment on the other bits potential longevity

They are as expected, long auger bits in a range of sizes. They are separately packaged and put in a plastic tube. I used one to drill a long hole in the side of some oak which they did well. I was using a brace so it was easy to control (not sure how these would work with an electric drill). I did manage to bend one of the drills in use but this was more than likely my fault as I was trying to "steer" the bit away from the edge.

Needed to fit an automated gate system to a wooden field gate and post.Chose these auger bits to accurately drill the necessary holes for 10mm coach bolts of different depths 6" & 3".Just need a little insulation tape on the drill to keep accurate depth indication.Brilliant value, and hopefully will be used on many other jobs!BTW, they come in a very handy plastic screw case that keeps them well protected. Excellent!

Bought to auger out an oak beam. Auger was sharp, straight and true, cut was OK, but auger binded quite alot hence difficult to reverse out after reaching 70mm depth.

Please don't waste your time buying these, I know they are cheep, however they are not fit for purpose, I bought 2 packs, just for the 10mm bits, to build a carport.Each bit lasted about 5 holes each, So I had to go to the local screwfix to get some better ones, to finish the job.Not happy :-)Wasted time and money.
