Great concept that does not really work.
This does not balance well with a cell phone (galaxy note 8). Its a great concept but the straps do not comfortably secure the device from slipping off your head. With the ballhead, its entirely too heavy on 1 side. The strap holder in the back should be weighted.

Awesome steady hands free video capabilities
The video cam that I have had for about 4 years just took on a new use.Can't always find someone to run the camera for those moments that count ,so this really opened up some new doors.I'm a Left hand shooter so I had to order my solvid camera hat and strap to mount on the right-hand side of my head , they were great to deal with and sure didn't waste any time sending it to me either.The Panasonic camera I use is not very heavy and has great image stabilization ,so was a perfect match.Once you have it dialed in to point right where the action is ,which does take a little practice,but after watching the solvid YouTube video it all fell into place.The Hat that fits over the strap really holds the camera firm ,so it continues to point in the direction intended.Being a side mounted camera I am impressed how it stays on a level plane too.I have no problem recommending this well thought out product to anyone who likes capturing those moments handsfree.Watch for some videosNievenegro youtube

Dissapointed.
I was disappointed in this strap. I felt the camcorder was heavy and pulled my head to the side. It is difficult to get it aimed accurately, you will need lots of practice, trial and error. I did not use it on my elk hunt that I bought it for because of the bulkiness and awkwardness of carrying it around.

Strap is way too uncomfortable.
Ended up cutting the strap and then sewing the mount to a different hat. No matter how I tried to use this it was very uncomfortable. The hat is nice but the headband is terrible. But after cutting off the strap and just using the mounting bracket I was able to make a nice rig from it using a different hat and eliminating the headband altogether.

doesnt work on my 2lb sony handycam
doesn't work with my 2lb cam,, its probably good for light action cams,, my camcorder just pulls down to hard on side of head,, I adjusted straps everyway, I wanted to use it for my adventures - canoeing-hiking etc, I don't like the action cams as much as my sony handycam,

Not for larger size head
It says it was a universal hat but it did not fit well with my head. The gopro mount made the hat all warped out of place so i couldnt really use it.
