Estes1949 Viking Rocket, Each,Brown/A

These are probably the best little rockets you can get for the price and ease of assembly. A C6-7 engine in one of these will send it out of site. I recommend the 3 fin configuration though. I lost my 4 and 5 fin rockets because they weather cocked into the wind but the 3 fin one I made kept going straight up. Definitely recommend C6-7 engines since the rockets coast up quite a while due to being so light. I'll be honest I'm lazy and didn't bother painting these and if you don't want to lose them don't use C engines unless you have tons of open area (Still managed to lose 2 while in a 5 acre field)

I put the A8-5 engines in this thing and it was awesome.There were several ways to put the fins on. (I put 5 on as narrowly as possibly)The streamer looks short but actually should be shorter to keep it from drifting too far.No wadding provided with the motors or the rocket. so buy some or just use toilet paper.Yeah, I bet it did get close to the 1,600 feet Estes says it will do.

This listing shows a Big Bertha rocket kit, however the kit in the description is a very tiny Viking rocket with paper fins. The price is defiantly too good to be true for a BB.

This was not the rocket pictured. I thought I was receiving the Big Bertha rocket pictured Unfortunately, it is the much smaller Viking rocket. This was a gift for my son and he was quite disappointed. I hope this discrepancy gets corrected soon.

My son was doing his Space Explorations Merit Badge and we bought this rocket. It was easy to put together and guess what? WE WON! smaller and lighter rocket went higher than all others!

Get this one for $12 or get 12 of them for $44. Whoops I should have shopped around. Pretty cool rocket though. Online videos are much more helpful than the instructions. Flew PLENTY high on A engine, came down fast because nose cone was on too tight and wadding packed too tight - so it blew the engine out instead of popping the nose cone. Made some adjustments and sent up second flight on B engine, almost lost sight of it, very little wind, so landed maybe 30-40 yards away. I learned a lot about these in the last couple weeks, and will be checking out more at hobby lobby!

Awesome rocket for the price. Was a perfect project for my 5 year old daughter and I on a snowy day. Flew impressively high with a B engine in it . Brought me back to my youth. Highly recommended.

As far as I know it works great.We put a C engine in it and never saw it again.
