So far, so good
So far I haven't had any issues. I had read the other reviews, especially the one about having the lock area cut with a battery operated tool. While ANY lock is only a deterent, I had hopes this would slow people down enough to be effective. As soon as I got the package, I anxiously opened it & began checking out the security of this box. To my surprise, I found there is more than one way to secure this box. The lock hole on the bottom middle front, & a place to run a python cable lock. The cable lock will secure the box to a tree & hold it shut. It does make getting into it to download pics more of a pain. But, it's a second way to add another time wasting deterent to crooks. I know there are tools out there that will defeat the cable locks as well as regular locks. But, short of sitting there personally watching your camera, which isn't going to happen, two locks are better than one. The next thing people will figure out is that there are battery powered chainsaws & grinders. So, ultimately, no matter how many locks you have, cutting the steel post with a grinder or the tree with a chainsaw, will result in loss of your camera. Unfortunately; shady, bad people, are always going to try and get over on the honest folks. I'm not sure how old the saying is but it holds true today, "locks are for honest people".

A must have if there are Bears around. In fact even Squirrels for they like to chew. It will not protect the camera from the dishonest hiker or hunter. They will rip the box apart trying to get to the camera.
