Cooks a little to rare side. Medium is soft hard is medium and perfect for soldiers and eggs.

Cracked after very little use
My wife and I eat soft-boiled eggs for breakfast and it helped to have a timer to ensure it cooked just right. This little time helped but it began to crack only after a couple month's time. Will have to try another method.

Umm well
I haven’t been going by the color change. I have been waiting at least 20-40 minutes after the color change to take the eggs off the stove. Sometimes that’s not long enough. Definitely not accurate. Still haven’t perfected it yet.
