Q: Can this product be trimmed? My fireplace is 35 1/2” wide.

Yes, our draft stopper can be easily trimmed with a pair of scissors.

Q: Is this two 36”x4” pieces?

Yes it is two separate pieces. Only used one piece and have the second one stored in basement. Did solve the the draft problem. Make sure your fireplace is magnetic.

Q: How many MIL thick is the magnet?

Thanks for reaching out! The thickness is 30MIL. We found this to be the prefect thickness for a flexible strong fit over vent protrusions. Magnets thicker than this result in a stiffer and less flexible vent cover.

Q: Is it safe to use this if our pilot light is on always?

Yes. I had my gas fireplace cleaned and asked that question of the workman. He said, "yes, but remove it when you turn it on." The pilot light is always on in my fireplace and I have had no issues. I've been using the draft blocker for over a year. It really does a good job of keeping the draft out.
