The Shaman & His Daughter: A Journey with Two Spiritual Warriors

I was looking for Christmas gifts and one day Amazon had "reminded" me that I should get something for myself and the gift they had suggested was this book. I was a bit puzzled, because I vaguely remember adding this book to my private list of things I had wanted on Amazon. Regardless, upon seeing it - I felt a deep nudge to purchase it. And I am so glad I did!With each chapter, I felt myself get more and more emotionally drawn and invested into the unfolding of a beautiful relationship between a daughter and father. Honestly, it really reminded me of my own unique relationship I have with my father (especially because he's a Shaman too) and it hit really close to home.I absolutely LOVE how he describes his thoughts, feelings, and approaches to each unique situation. It was as if I were just a passenger/observer watching these events unfold organically. I kept finding myself completely submerged in each moment - finding it hard not to let my tears fall. The emotions behind the tears varied from joy to melancholy to sadness - all across the spectrum of emotions really (at least for me).I highly recommend this book - even if you are not a firm believer of Shamanism. It has instilled in me to have more faith in the unknown and has helped me return to a child-like wonder state of mind.Thank you for writing this book Greg! I am forever grateful!With Gratitude,MJ

I randomly came across this book, The Shaman & His Daughter, while scrolling through Amazon. Something about it spoke to and I am so happy I followed that intuitive feeling because I simply have not been able to put it down. I have been so deeply moved by the stories of Greg and hid daughter. They’ve truly touched my heart and soul in ways only a father-daughter relationship imbued with the sacred energy of the warrior spirit could! I have been crying on the subway! It has also reminded me of my innate reverence for the Native American spirit. I have always wished to be a part of their ancient ways of life and reading this book brought that beautiful energy back up for me. I will forever send deep gratitude and appreciation for these two people for bringing my heart alive in this way. Angel-girl is nothing short of an inspiration! Truth be told, I even find myself channeling her incredible confidence and strength in times of need! Thank you Greg, thank you Angel-girl. You have left an eternal mark on my heart!

If is not often that I find a book that I just can't put down but this one is such a book. I personally feel changed in a deep way from reading it. Brilliant!

One hour and 5 chapters into starting this beautiful novel and my perspective on life - however simple or mundane - has shifted into one of more peace, calm, and faith that what is meant to happen will happen. I started "The Shaman & His Daughter" at the very end of a Sunday night, following a VERY stressful week prior. I am so excited to continue reading and learning!! Drambour, with HIS stories and writing style, has connected so many lessons I've learned in MY life thus far. I can already tell that this book is one that will stick with me long after I've finished. (It already has a spot saved on my "favorite books" shelf.) I've already recommended this wonderful book to several friends and family members. I already feel a shift within me regarding motherhood, personhood, and the lens with which I now view life.Mr. Drambour, thank you! Thank you so much for pouring your heart and soul into such a beautiful piece of art! It has completely changed me.

Where to begin? Gregory's deeply human yet otherworldly approach to raising a child alone after the loss of his partner and love hit very close to home for me. I raised 2 sons after loosing their Father to a private plane crash. The details Greg so artfully wove into his story line were spell binding, bitter sweet, and OH SO ACCURATE. I found the Shaman and His Daughter hard to put down, I did not want it to end, and in reflecting on it I realize it will never end. In his sharing of this story it lives and expands for us all. It did not take Gregory months or years to write this, it took him life times of living and seeing and listening "beyond"! I am blessed to have this in my library and to share it with my family and friends. I recommend The Shaman and His Daughter and guarantee it will cause you to grow and change how you look at raising children, and at how you approach your own life. A gift from a lovely soul! I had the absolute honor of reading this beautiful book and experiencing the magic of retreat with Gregory all within a week. I read the book in one sitting as I could not put it down - the dialogue between Gregory and Angel Girl is intoxicating. I just got back from retreat an hour ago and I already can't wait to re-read the book and continue to work with him. The lessons within each chapter are priceless and timeless wisdom from sources that are next to impossible to access anymore. When our book group selected The Shaman & His Daughter, I was not expecting to be so moved, so uplifted and so educated by the unassuming title. But I was absolutely transported to a world where EVERYTHING matters and has consciousness, even stuffed animals. (I knew it!) How refreshing to know there are gentle folk who walk the earth sharing love and gladness with every creature, rock and element, modeling for the rest of us how to do it.I have always been drawn to Native American spirituality, and this book reminded me why. And Gregory Drambour’s sensitivity to his daughter makes me wish he’d been my dad…

A beautiful story - I wanted to keep reading. A story effortlessly reminding me of how much more we are than simply the human forms we are living through - and how simply and powerfully we can enjoy our connection with all other forms (whether animate - or apparently inanimate) in the world around us - and beyond. And at the same time reminding me of how 'humanness' is an important and valuable part of this experience.

Oh no! I am disappointed....because I have finished reading this beautiful book. I want more. Wow...I have so enjoyed reading each chapter, a story in it's own right. So much learning about inner soul, nature, relationships, love and gratitude. The author has such a wonderful style of written. I now want to read the sequel...so Gregory Drambour...get writing please.

It does what it says. Very inspirational , enlightening and leaves you feeling that I want to know more. Again I thank you.

This book surprised me with its depth - the stories the author tells are deeply personal and yet universal at the same time. As a parent, I was really touched & found myself grateful to have come across this wonderful account of a father and daughter learning and growing together.

This was a beautiful and gentle book that I read all in one sitting. The love between the father and daughter was obvious and touching. An easy but impactful read xx
