I researched this watch before making the purchase because Seiko offer a wide range of divers watches, with a choice of kinetic, automatic or solar. My limited experience with the Seiko 5 auto was positive but they do need to be worn every day to maintain performance. I have no knowledge of Kinetic watches, although they appear reliable. However, Solar is relatively new and makes perfect sense - I only have to leave it in daylight and it will maintain it's charge and can keep running for up to 60 hours.I ultimately purchased the watch via Amazon US, because the prices were so much cheaper, even with import taxes and delivery costs.First impressions were that the watch is huge and heavy. Even though I knew the dimensions it was physically massive, both diameter and depth were far bigger than other watches I own and took a full week to get used to the scale of it on the wrist! That said, once I got used to leaving shirt buttons undone etc, I bought a Seiko-style silicon rubber strap in matching blue (from Amazon UK this time) and found this to be lighter and more comfortable for casual wear. I am still conscious of it's size but I'm happy with the quality and styling and although I'm not a diver as such, it's reassuring to know that it's completely waterproof should I forget to remove it when bathing etc.Positives: Attractive and sensible design and a change from the traditional black and silver styling. Quality build, well finished and functional. Excellent value for money, compared to Swiss models and it's manufactured in-house.Negatives: Think twice before committing - this really is a big, bold and heavy watch.

I have been where a Seiko Divers Watch for the last 17 years. In fact the same Black face Solar divers watch. Never let me down. From Truck driving to the Gas rigs of PA to inside jobs in the Washington DC area as a Project Manager. Just thought it was time for a Beautiful Blueface Solar Divers Watch and the Prospex was my pick. What a wonderful and Great Watch. I love it. Altho my old one still works I will still wear it when I have to work outside or fish or other activities. But my Blue Face will be for my new inside job or dress. I love it. I’m 63 so this may be the last watch in my life time and Solar is the only way to go. Happy Happy.

I wanted to give it a bit of time to see what this watch is really about before writing a review. It was time well spent.The watch is very attractive and has a high-quality build and feel to it. I have owned a Rolex watche in the past, and I don't plan to own another. I liked the Rolex Submariner, and I just felt that it was nice to own and was great looking, but impractical. I was worried about losing it, or smashing it into a wall as I do sometimes; but paying insurance on a watch? YHGTBKM. You never stop paying for a high-end watch.The Seiko Prospex Padi Solar SNE435P1 has worked flawlessly in the two week period I have had it. I have to say that my impression of Seiko quality was bumped up a couple notches. The detail work is superior in every way. Considering the cost, it is a superior value, and I am very pleased with it's accuracy, practicality, and ruggedness.It is my opinon that this watch is just as good as my Submariner. After you lose the ego, it just becomes a timekeeping device. Is it super-critical that the watches accuracy is 1 x 10^-6 seconds, and ticks directly on the second hand for 100 years? Please, LOL.I am going to buy another soon.

Securely packaged arrived quickly.Keeps very good time, a nice solid watch well worth the price.A minor comment; the date display can be a bit difficult to see unless viewed directly over it.

I do not dive, but I wanted the great easy read face and hands of a divers watch. This high contrast Seiko PADI Solar blue divers watch face with white round hour markers and red/white hands combination really pops. Makes for an easy read day or night, and it has very good Lumibright luminous round hour markers & hands. The luminous parts glow nice bright green for the first 30 mins...then decrease intensity to dim glow for about 4-5 hrs total. Blast it with a flashlight for a short time and it’s fully glowing & good to go again. Love the “cyclops” date magnifier on the crystal! I can use the rotating blue bezel to time soccer game half’s. Screw in crown was easy to use to set time and date. Excellent Seiko quality fit and finish.Solar watches like this one can recharge batteries in any light, and you can always park the watch under a bright light source or in sunlight and keep the watch all charged up quite up easily. I recently purchased another brands similar style solar divers watch with rectangular hour markers and more simple hands, but glowing in darkness there just wasn’t enough difference in shape of the hour and minute hands to easily tell them apart. The Seiko has very different hour & minute hands that makes them much easier to tell apart in darkness or in light.This sharp looking Seiko PADI Solar Divers watch is the one I will wear 24/7.

Muy satisfecho con este reloj. No muchos relojes de buceo tienen una correa de metal, este sí. Además, la lupa delante de la fecha es un activo para ver bien la fecha. Encuentro el color azul muy interesante. El reloj que estaba buscando ...El ancho de la correa es de 20 mm.

Mine is plus 5 seconds per month which just means I can adjust it when I advance the date for the months that have only 30 days. I don't have to,but what the heck,I am adusting it any ways. When I put my automatics in to rotation, I use this watch as the time reference. I just hope the solar cell plus the rehargeable cell lasts for 10 years. I would be happy with 10 years. Jim
