I had had some furnace problems that were triggering the hardwired CO detector. At first I thought it was the hardwired unit but that continued following replacement. So glad I also bought this handheld unit that I could quickly pinpoint the problem. I work for a Fire Department and with winter coming it now goes with me on calls in case I arrive first on scene.

This product greatly exceeded my expectations. As mentioned in some of the other reviews, all the documentation is in Chinese. But that's really not a problem, the product is very simple to use. I just plugged it in and Windows automatically downloaded the drivers. We live in a semi-rural area, and before this my computer could only see our home wifi network. This antenna immediately detected around 10 networks... I don't think there are ten homes within a one mile range of our house. I was able to connect to the public wifi network at the middle school that's about a mile away. At that range, and with a product as inexpensive as this, I wasn't expecting much. But it was a perfectly usable connection, I was even able to watch a Netflix video! We purchased this to use on our boat to connect to weak public wifi connections in marinas and anchorages, I'm very confident that it will suit that use well.

As the only computer tech in the family, I get called for all sorts of weird issues from relatives. Including from my mom, who wanted me to get her a stronger antenna to pick up my sister-in-law's wireless router, one house down...So I did some research and came up with this solution - I figured worst case scenario, it has enough cable I could run it almost next door into their house.I didn't have to. This directional antenna has enough sensitivity and power to not only pick up, but to send a signal over 50' away, without major signal loss.Using Windows 7, this was simply plug and play - no 3rd party drivers were needed or anything. Worked perfectly right out of the box.

Many of the reviewers are correct in saying the CD is in Chinese and confusing. The key here is just to connect and let the software driver install automatically. That is what I did in Windows 10. I worried that it hadn't installed and tried messing with the CD but nothing seemed to change I had installed it in the house close to the router. I took the unit to my low signal location and plugged it into my laptop. And there were all my signals waiting to be connected to. This wifi Antenna was brilliant. I gave it five stars because the difficulties were mine in not trusting it had installed. Enjoy this unit!

I've had a few of these 'outdoor' antennas on my boat and this one is the first that actually appears weather-able. With others the USB connection was entirely exposed. Because of this I mounted it more permanently. Mounted on top of a radar dome 8' up it gets 15-20% better reception than the previously owned antenna/wireless adapter. (if you need it to angle downward it doesn't go any lower than the photo shown, due to the bracket) the USB cable is significant and shows limited line loss. You don't need those sad little side antennas the other models offer, for a few $$ more than the cheap-ees I am currently pleased with the purchase.

Before purchasing this I looked through the answered questions and saw someone claim that it works on Windows 8.1. After scouring the web and trying every driver I could, I don't believe this to be true. If it has functional drivers for windows 8.1, I can't find them. I know someone else that recently got one for a windows 7 machine. Plug and play didn't work very well, but after downloading the latest Win7 drivers, the product works well. To be fair, it doesn't claim to work on Win8.1 in the description.

I didn't realize when I bought it that this unit will break into WiFi network security and allow you to use someone else's locked WiFi Network (without their knowledge).I just wanted to be able to access my own WiFi from farther away.I have not tried the "code breaking" feature of the unit.The instruction manual was written in (sort-of) English by a non-English speaking person, so "it working so good if you allow to read instructions before connecting to unit."

Bought to save lives, purchased for volunteer fire dept with a very very small budget. Cost effective purchase, it’s limitations can be worked around. Without a pump, more motion of detector is needed for accurate and constant reading.

This thing picks up every network in miles if high enough, would be great for stone walled houses

Thought it was UK but came from China, install instructions unclear so threw it in the bin. Shame, must be more careful in future.
