They Remind Me of Grandma
I first noticed Fiestaware in a shop window I have passed by over the past 3-4 years. What caught my eye, was the large pitcher my grandmother kept in the refrigerator for drinking water (in the 50's when air conditioning was rare and we drank plenty of cold water). These pieces brought back happy memories. Finally, last month I dropped in and bought (2) 4-piece place settings in sage. After that, I ordered more from Amazon and bought other pieces from Macy's. I have the ivory, claret, sage, daffodil, cobalt, and poppy in various combinations of pieces. Amazingly, it makes no difference which colors you mix and match at the table. They all compliment each other. At Dillard's and Macy's, under the bright lights, the colors are dazzling. You can go to HomerLaughlin.com to design your own color scheme. On their website, you can read the very interesting history of Fiestaware dating back to the 1920's. The ivory is an especially nice color that can be described as sort of light/tan, just slightly darker than cream, or café au lait. On my monitor, the color shows true. Colors may differ slightly according to your PC's color settings. On the website, for any questions about the size of the mug, there are about 4-5 mug versions/sizes available including a jumbo mug. I think of Grandma every time I use these.

Beautiful, nontoxic dishes! Fiesta is a great company! Mix and match colours for a retro look.
I absolutely love Fiesta's products. They're made in the USA and are lead-free and cadmium-free. It's really worth paying for good quality dishes you can trust - After all, you're eating off of them every day! I recently updated most of my old dishes with Fiesta dishes and Pyrex glassware after reading about how almost ALL companies use lead and cadmium in their glazes and realizing all of my old dishes were made in China and Taiwan where health regulations are even more lax than they are in the states. Yikes! Better safe than sorry - any of those old, scratched plates with hot or acidic food on it might be exposing you to lead or cadmium. With Fiesta, you know it's safe.Fiesta has so many fun colours to choose from! The paprika colour is really pretty (reminds me of a terra cotta pot). I ended up ordering paprika, turquoise, and plum, which looks really fun in my kitchen! Check out Fiesta's website for sales, as they often have deals where you get a free small bowl when you order a place setting. Not sure which colours to choose? They also have a fun tool on their site called "Colorama" so you can see how the colours look together. Dishes are really sturdy and bright!

The perfect dishes!
I love Fiestaware! It's so versital and pretty, not to mention sturdy. I'm purchasing this for my Mom to "complete" a set for her. Though do you ever complete a set? It's so great to mix and match them! I have cobalt and lemongrass in four place settings with lots of different serving pieces. And now I'm hooked on shamrock and peacock together. But they all work wonderfully together! We also have pieces that are antique that we still use in colors that have been long retired. Fiesta goes from casual to a more formal setting with just a change of table linens and some chargers (ok, I do have formal china but I love my Fiesta the best!). Guests love the table settings and I love the easy care! I can cook and serve in them and my husband can load them in the dish washer (thanks honey!) or if I hand wash the plates when just the two of us eat it's so easy to take care of them. They've even survived a couple of drops and not broken. How could it get any better?!? More cabinet space for more Fiesta ware!

Love Fiestaware!
I started collecting Fiestaware almost 20 years ago. I use my collection everyday. I wash in dishwasher and give it absolutely no special treatment. I am still using all my items including first 8 sets of 4 piece place settings. They all look brand new. Wish I registered for Fiestaware instead of China that stays packed up and stored! Life lessons... Anyway, I watch for great sales and only buy when place settings are less than $25 each. I love mixing colors together for seasons and special events. If you ever get scratches or cut marks, simply remove with liquid Barkeeper's Friend and a basic foam sponge. These arrived in factory package and in perfect condition. Shamrock color pairs so well with Scarlet at Christmas.

Almost perfect size!
I love that Fiesta ware has been manufactured in the USA since the 1930's. It's timeless, carefree , and stands up to both today's causal dinning and restaurants use as well. The plate size is perfect for healthy portion control because the dinner plates are 10.5 inches and the salad plate is 7 inches. I recently purchased the 12 ounce Java mug and I wish they would substitute that for the 10.5 ounce cup offered in this set. The 12 ounce Java cup fills to the brim if you're using a Kuerig coffee brewer. The five-year chip warranty is great. Bringing pieces directly from the oven or microwave to the table to the dishwasher is convenient. Top all this off with great color selections that you can mix and match and I think you have an excellent product that sets a fun and pretty table. I love my tangerine, sunflower and turquoise combinations.
