Features that Make Briefcases Jealous
I have used a Sherpani messenger bag for many years so I can definitely rely on the quality and functionality of their products. This backpack has more than I could think of myself in a nice design and the availability of different color schemes. The side pockets hold a slim 16oz coffee thermos or a 16oz water bottle. The shoulder straps tuck inside a pocket on the back when you aren't using them and their padding is quite comfortable. I wrapped the excess ends around the strap and tied them off since they're rather long.Lots of pockets and storage! The pockets in the main area are small but still useful and the slot for a laptop or tablet is securely padded. The front colored pocket has a strong magnetic button clasp which is good for a small notebook or something quick to access. I really like the silicone zipper pulls to make it quick to grab and adds a colorful accent. The pockets in front can be secured by the pulls with a small luggage lock if you align them just right. One thing I dislike is that the clay color is a bit more orange than what shows on the webpage but it is a great color compliment to the main one of the pack, so it's grown on me now and doesn't seem that orange. Pictures were taken in natural lighting.

In love with my traveling office!
FURTHER UPDATE: Sherpani sent me a gift certificate for a new backpack (like this: https://www.amazon.com/Sherpani-Womens-Soleil-Backpack-Forest/dp/B07GR2PLJF/ref=lp_2210531011_1_3?s=apparel&ie=UTF8&qid=1566799814&sr=1-3&nodeID=2210531011&psd=1) and this one continues the tradition of looking good and being awesome. I'm now carrying a laptop, a keyboard, TWO mice, a mouse pad, a bag of small peripherals, and a makeup bag, and they all just disappear inside without distorting the clean shape at all. I still wish for more zip pockets inside, but am consoled by the elastic end pockets both inside & outside. Plus the two outside zip pockets.17 MONTHS LATER: a piece of hardware broke, making a backpack strap unusable. Sherpani customer service are checking to see if buying it from amazon means I am or am not within the warranty. I am a bit grumpy but still using daily. If I had to carry my laptop this month though I'd be pretty mad.ONE YEAR LATER: I continue to love this thing passionately, have used it daily since my last review, and it's still in great shape. I've washed it three times so far. Last weekend, I took it for a hike & then leaned it--this white fabric bag--up into the wheelwell of my husband's car. What can I say, it seemed like a good idea at the time? Anyway, I took it home, emptied it, scrubbed at the stains with a laundry stain remover, and ran it through the delicates cycle. Stain came out. Today I took it to the park & a child got her chocolatey hands on the outside while helping me get my iphone out. Scrubbed it with a wet washcloth, and whaddayaknow? Stains came out.None of the seams have given out, none of the zip tags have come off, all the zippers still run really well, and the webbing hasn't frayed. The fabric looks new. The ONLY, ONLY thing I would change is maybe throw in a few inner wall zip pockets. Or just put zips on the ones that are already there--I've had to stuff it with pouches for all my junk. But maybe they ran out of unobtainium? Who can say?----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------I've had this bag for 3 weeks and I'm nuts about it. Let's get this off the table first: yes, it's expensive. HOWEVER. It is so well made! The short handles are webbing. The long strap is webbing, and the adjustable buckle doesn't slide. The long strap also can't twist, it has spinning attachment points. The zip tabs are sturdy. The backpack straps are adjustable and nicely padded, and they tuck away neatly into their own pocket, which closes magnetically and also holds my house keys + a grocery bag. There are small open exterior pockets at each end (not quite comfortable for a bottle; good for glasses though) and two zip pockets on the opposite side, one perfect for a small cosmetics bag/accessories, another for keys or keycard/subway ticket. The interior has multiple pockets (wallet/checkbook/tissues) and a padded open compartment that is just big enough for my HP. I can also just barely fit in my computer charger and a large trackball.I like a little more organization, so I also got this: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B004WMW8NE/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_1for the inside, and it holds tampons, iphone charger, fitbit charger, headset, hair doodads, pens, and notebook. The white fabric does show stains, but wipes clean easily, and the black fabric doesn't have any problems so far from being set down in various grungy places. The inside fabric is a lovely glossy neutral stripe. Lastly, one side of the bag will zip open to allow the whole thing to fit over a suitcase handle.I've haven't let go of this thing since I moved my stuff into it. They may have to bury me with it.

Great for commuting! Goes from shoulder to backpack in a flash!
I bought this bag because it's a vertical shoulder bag, rather than hanging in the wider direction like most bags. I love that it's so easily convertable! I use it in backpack mode when walking, then when it's time get on the bus or train, I can quickly change to the shoulder strap, which I keep attached and tucked into the back pocket. Then when it's time to walk again, I can quickly stuff the strap back into the pocket, and put on the backpack! I have a Sherpani Soleil AT that I love for the same reason. And they both look professional and neat, and beautifully designed. I bought the Camden beause it's an inch taller and I can carry my 17.3" laptop. It doesn't fit in the laptop pocket, but it fits in front of the laptop pocket, in the main space with a little room to had some padding, maybe a thin neoprine sleeve, or even a little bubble wrap at the bottom, which is good enough for commuting to work. The Camden is deeper and has a lot more space for other things that the Soleil, too. I'm very happy with this bag!

Amazing backpack just one issue...
This backpack is beautiful, well constructed and so many great pockets and nooks to tuck things, it's perfect except for one thing... when you set the straps to the best position to fit you, the 'teeth' that are supposed to hold the straps in place are not hearty enough and the straps slip. I have to carry a heavy laptop to-and-from work and I carry lunch, this bag has weight to it and it tends to slide (I have tied the straps in a knot to hold it in place, not great having a knot in my back). That said, a GREAT feature of this backpack is the regular strap (not the tote handles or the backpack strap but the bag strap), this strap allows you to hold like a regular bag on your shoulder and it sits at your side VERY COMFORTABLY. I take the subway to work and I don't want to be that person with the backpack on the subway encroaching on the person's space behind me. Having my bag at my side also allows me to have sight of my bag on the subway.Overall, this bag is FANTASTIC, i hope the Company fixes the 'teeth; issue and then this bag would be 100 out of 10!

Great versatile bag for travel or work
This bag is great for a travel carry on or to take to work. Holds a laptop and has several separate compartments. It appears sturdy with no issues so far and the zippers are not flimsy. Love this bag
