They work well!
I received four of these plugs this morning, and I used one to repair a Fender "California Cables" guitar cable. Soldering to the plug was straightforward, but the low melting point of the cable insulation required VERY careful application of heat. My hillbilly solution was to use needle-nose pliers, with a rubber band across the handles, to simultaneously hold each wire in place for soldering and serve as a heat sink. The new piece of heat-shrink tubing (included inside the plug handle) was a nice touch, and allowed me to lap the new heat-shrink tubing over the old tubing for a professional-looking result. It all worked well, and the cable is now like new! In the photo, the original plug is on the left and one of these replacement plugs is on the right.

Shield connection spins or pivots on axis, continually stressing center wire tip connection
These are cheap and of little worth. Shield connection and clamp spin or pivot on axis, so the soldered tip connection wire pivots back and forth as well when the cable is turned, even when clamped, even when heat-shrunk as it's all one piece. It won't last a month being plugged and unplugged from jacks, packing in, or cable being rotated while playing.Cheap metal plug weighs in about 30% less than a Switchcraft, thin and flimsy. Returned. You get what you pay for; so I put on a Switchcraft instead.

Even I can solder these!
I am not a skillful at soldering and I was apprehensive about ordering these but I had to cut 2 of my cables in a pinch to wire up some speakers and I really wanted to save money and repair them. These worked great and were easy to solder. I am very pleased.

Poor quality control.
The meta piece that is part of the center (pin) connection is poorly trimmed and short circuits the plug when you screw the cover on. I had to carefully put electrical tape on it to keep it from touching the cover and shorting out. I’m going to have to grind it down to make doubly sure.

Good product - will buy again
These are pretty simple devices and I have been using this style for sixty years. These ones are up to doing the job and arrived as expected. For a product like this "no surprises" is very good:)Bill

Just like the ones you had YEARS ago
I love these big fat old fashioned, well made plugs. VERY easy to solder, they are put together nicely.I honestly think they are the best plugs out there.

Don’t buy audio parts from Amazon...
I bought these from Amazon because I needed them in a pinch. They are so laughable overpriced! They work fine, but they’re not spectacular, and the price is absolutely embarrassing. But from a parts company like Parts Express.

No cable support sleeves
I realised why these are called "Jumbo". Because they are nice and easy to solder up. Plenty of space between the 2 connecting points. A lot easier than some others I've used. The only problem, and the reason I haven't giving more stars, is that no support sleeves are provided. I reckon these are important when cables are bent a lot near the plug, as is inevitable on guitars. Nicely made too. Just needs those support sleeves.

Not fit for purpose
Not only are these very cheaply made and assembled, but the materials used are not suitable for soldering. The solder and flux will NOT stick to the ground. Utter useless, avoid and buy any other product!

They are the right size for my speakers
These jack plugs were used to replace worn jack plugs on speaker leads

Internal flexing causing a short
Too flimsy and also could not cope with the heat from the solder gun
