Value for money
I won’t lie, I bought this stereo before reading the reviews and the way people were talking, I thought I was in for a hell of a ride. Turned out to be the opposite!I have had this unit for about 3 months. I'd like to highlight the impressive features of the Road Angel car stereo, particularly Apple CarPlay. This integration offers a seamless connectivity to my iPhone 14, I have been able to navigate and listen to music completely handsfree. The touchscreen is great quality and very responsive. Unlike other screens I have had in the past with Pioneer, it resembles a smartphone screen. It is bright, clear and looks great in the dash. Via the Apple Car Play, I am able to answer calls and via the steering wheel controls, I am able to answer without touching my phone or stereo. So, I am able to converse safely and legally. I have never been a big radio listener but the DAB on this stereo has got me hooked, I cannot lie. I have discovered a range of music I didn’t know I would like and have been tuning in nonstop every morning. The inclusion of WAZE in CarPlay mode is a valuable navigation aid. Additionally, the 3-year manufacturer's warranty provides peace of mind. I have a MK6 Golf 2012, the installation was so easy. I had a spare weekend so I thought I would give it a crack, the fitting kit I bought with this stereo had everything I needed and after a good look around for tutorials on Youtube, I was able to fit this stereo within 45 minutes. (Quite proud of myself lol), the biggest faff when fitting was routing the DAB antenna cable as I had to take the A-Pillar trim off on the passenger side.

Display poor quality
Easy to install, however the display is poor quality. Unless you look at the unit direct or slightly off, the android auto display becomes extremely blurred. As a result there is also a blue tinge to the screen. Would not recommend this unit if your dashboard goes straight down.

Best purchase ever!
I have been looking at buying the Road Angel car stereo for some time and have been looking at so many different reviews. On other websites it is very highly regarded and on Amazon not so much. I was waiting for the price to drop as it was inevitable that prices for electronics will fall as we are in this credit crunch!! I was right they certainly did and I bagged a £100.00 saving for the car stereo. I cannot fault Amazons delivery service very fast. The stereo itself was packed really well and I was surprised how shallow it was, the pictures did not show this and I think Amazon is missing a trick not showing how slim this car stereo is. It was very easy to fit in my Focus RS as I replaced an old Pioneer and to my surprise all the wires from the Pioneer fit onto the Road Angel, I can only assume they are made by the same factory!!! It was easy to set up, I love how you can set up the steering wheel controls it gives lots of flexibility to each car and it even works with my answer and disconnect phone button that the Pioneer one did not. The user interface is very friendly and easy to use, you can certainly tell its been designed in England and is not some Chinese stereo. Car Play works the same as my old Pioneer but I guess that's just an Apple format. The power is crazy, it has so much power it is so loud I have to turn it down!!!! I love the stereo overall it certainly ticks the boxes and the 3 year warranty is icing on the cake. Why do others not give you this!!

Ok, but feels a bit outdated
Was not familiar with the brand but thought it was worth a punt, did think it was a bit expensive compared to other more well known brands (Pioneer, Kenwood etc)In the box you get the main unit, wiring loom, cage and a very brief instruction manual. Can't comment on the fitting process as this was completed by a friend who is a lot more experienced than me in these things, all I can say is that he looked pretty exhausted when I went to collect the car and was mumbling a few profanities under his breath, so I assume it was not straight forward. It claims to be able to do a lot of things (if your willing to pay extra for the privilege - reversing camera, steering wheel controls, parking assist - all of which are not included, but can be purchased separately) It's pretty straight forward to use and has all the basic features of any stock car entertainment system. The screen brightness is ok depending on where its situated in your car, if its high up it can be difficult to see in bright sunlight even with the brightness turned up to full. Bluetooth connection was easy and quick and the screen is very responsive. Got to say I was disapointed that this model did not have DAB radio and even more so when I found out that if I wanted to use Android auto I would have to connect via a cable. When connect though, everything worked fine (Google maps etc) The sound is of a good standard and is clear and crisp.I think it's a good upgrade if you have a very basic stereo in your car or are longing to have a touch screen unit like everyone else, but for this price you can probably get something a bit more feature packed and with a few more extras included. It is not cheap for what your getting and does feel a bit outdated with the lack of DAB and still having to use features via a cable connection.
