This cherry wood smoked nice. It held the heat for a long time. My brisket was delicious! Pretty good amount for the price.

Ordered 3 bags. 1 bag weighs 4.4 lbs and is almost half full. Another weighs about 5.5 lbs, and is less than 2/3 full. Last one is almost 8 lbs, bag is basically full. The seals on the "light" bags look like they have been redone. I will for sure contact Western and inquire as to what the deal is. If resolved, of course I will update my review. Pissed at the moment.Edit:Changed review from 1 star to 4. Sent an Email to Amazon requesting 1 (full) replacement bag to rectify the half full bags, four days later received 2 full bags, and no return of the others was necessary. I am satisfied with the replacements, as they are as full as the 1 full bag previously received. I gave 4 stars not 5 because of the presence of excessive smaller chips and debris. This, if bags are received FULL, is one of the best deals on cherry wood chunks around. I am now debating ordering more.

Great price and great wood flavor. I smoked some Ribs with these and the taste was amazing. The wood smells fresh and it comes with a lot of pieces. One bag should last through about a month or two of heavy BBQing (several times a week). My only complaint - the wood size varies between chunks and chips. Some chunks are huge and don't burn as well (I know you can cut them down but I bought these to not have to worry about it). I love these and will buy more for sure! I look forward to trying out more wood types.

I just started smoking meats and fish and came to Amazon to see if I could get different flavor chunks as I use a charcoal smoker. So far, I've used these cherry chunks for fish and the hickory chunks (same brand) for meats. I do not soak the wood prior and just lay them directly on the coals. They produce a lot of smoke almost instantly, and add great flavor t whatever I am smoking. I can do about 5-6 batches of smoking with one bag (I don't have a really large smoker, does about 2-3 lbs of fish). With the Add-On Item pricing, this really is a no-brainer. Will continue to use as long as pricing/availability is good.

Used this in my smoker this summer. Big hit with the family. Cherry is the most versatile and nice tasting smoking wood I've found.
