This is a convenient way to acquire a sample of tantalum. It came well packed, sealed in plastic, inside a sample bottle, with packing foam.Machining tolerances are good, it does measure 2cm long and 1cm diameter along its length almost exactly. The listing says the weight is 27g, but presumably that's rounded up. My sample weighed 26.4g, which is about right (volume of cylinder is 1.57 x density of tantalum 16.69 g/cm^2 = 26.2g. The imprinting of the text as pictured is okay, it looks like it's on the surface and isn't deep into the metal.A downside is that shipping takes ages (nearly a month).
