Not the best option, but the only option for this style of mounting
So first off the unit is really well built. it's stainless steel, not heavy but thick and well made. I can't bend it by hand at all. The clearances are very tight in the install location and look great after installed. Now with that said I will say go buy spare washers and nuts. Buy a couple bolts as well, I'll wait for you to come back, they're m6x1.0 if my memory serves. In my process of installing this I lost 4 washers and 2 nuts. I have bearclaw size hands and even my girlfriend with teeny tiny hands still couldn't do this for me. There aren't any instructions for install but it's pretty straight forward, there's a hole that the main hole in the mount lines up with, put the bolt through and tighten it down. Also ground it. What I did for a ground was I ground down the paint behind the mounting plate. contact is full and testing from the mount to my hood I have a 0.01 ohm resistance, not too bad if I do say so myself. After install it's on rock solid and will not move. Now the reasoning for 4 stars. First you need to install your cabling onto the mount before install ortherwise it'll be impossible to do so after installed. If you're using a firestik ring cable mount it to the top position, not bottom. Mounting it to the bottom pushes it against the plastic hinge cover and I think causes it to bow and the antenna is askew. Mine is bottom mounted and I'm not losing another few washers and nuts and about a half hour of time to move the cable, besides it looks cleaner from below. I can deal with the leaning to the side. How I installed:1) install your cabling onto the mount2) pick a ground, again I used a Dremel with a sanding spindle to remove the paint from behind where the mount touched. You could used the included grounding screw mount3) slide the mount in to verify it fits, I'd also recommend determining the cable routing now so you know which way you're going to run it, FYI, at least in my GMC, there are no rubber grommets that go from the engine bay to the cab on the driver side, so you'll either need to drill one (I wouldn't do that) or route it through your door jam (which I did). Both have their good and bad points, it's your call on what to do.4) slide the bolt and washer on from the side closest to the fender through the mount and hole on the chassis5) use a pair of needle nose pliers, curved needle nose pliers might make it even easier, to slide on the second washer6) use 2 box end 10mm wrenches, tape closed one side of one of them and place the nut in the well, this will help you align the nut to the bolt7) get both hands in there, put the 10mm bolt on the nut and turn the bolt until the nut has threaded on a decent amount8) snug up the mount (I used a ratcheting 10mm wrench, made it a bit easier) NOTE: I was unable to get my low profile wrench and 10mm socket in there to tighten it down, you might have better luck than I though. This whole process took me about a half hour to do.Overall:Pros:Looks good installedgreat build qualityAlmost looks like a stock installCons:Really hard to installHave to mount your cabling before installing the mountvery specific way to mount your cablesincluded ground connection though functional looks baddid I mention how hard it is to install? Seriously it's a challengeno information or instructions whatsoeverWith all that said, I think the time was worth it and I'd recommend it or buy it again.

I like it so far just installing
Install was straight forward. People said getting the bolt and nut were hard to install but I did it pretty easily. Seems like it's going to be a good product. Used the firestick 9' fire ring cable for easier install. When i put the antenna on it did lean a little outwards towards road. All i did was bend it over a little now is straight. As of right now no complaints. I'm happy with it. Looking for to see how it holds up and how does in the real world application. Installed on a 06 tahoe lt.

Clean Install but not for 2008 + Chevy/GMC New Body style
I own 2 Gmc Trucks and 1 Chevy Silverado. This bracket isntalled cleanly on my 2000 GMc 1500 Sierra up by the window-cowl. It was very easy to install once i found the factory hole under the hood. However the bracket did not fit my 08 Chevy 2500HD nor did it fit my wifes 08 GMC yukon.( i was able to use the factory "empty" antenna hole with a mount stud since it does not have an atenna from the factory installed on the yukon.. fyi.). The bracket is sturdy and i would indeed recommend it to anyone looking for the cleanest look. Ill be trying to install it in a few weeks on a 2010 chevy 1500 since i have an extra bracket now.

Works as advertised and holds well with no bending
Worked exactly as advertised. Took some time to carefully mount and it does just barely touch the plastic above where you mount it. I thought one small bolt wasn't going to be enough - but it utilizes the flat portion against the body to prevent any excess movement. As other reviews state, the small nut/bolt is challenging to get in properly, so be prepared for some contortions to get it in properly. I am running a 4 ft fireblad with a spring flex mount. Running up as high as 130mph one time when I wasn't being very smart....it held fine and didn't distort. I regularly drive in the 70-80mph range and it has done exactly what I wanted - mounting my antenna out of the way and in an area with good reception.

Chevy Antenna Mount
This made a great mounting solution on my 2001 2500 suburban. Fit and finish are good, this bracket is made with quality material. Installation was not difficult and required very little to no modification to any Factory parts. Mounted and tuned a 3' firefly and get great performance out of my CB radio. I would recommend.
