Wisconsin Made/Bay View Packing Company Bay View Pickled Polish Sausage, Two Jars

I am from New Hampshire, and the big vendor for good quality pickled sausage has been McKenzie of Vermont. They have become scarce all of the sudden, so I have turned to the Interweb in a quest to replace them. These arrived in great shape, and were well packed. These taste good, and are much better cold. They resemble the small Penrose sausages, and have a smoky taste; they have a skin on them, and are the diameter of a hot dog. They are not spicy like the McKenzie. I gave 4 stars only because they are not exactly what I was looking for in my quest to replace the McKenzie product; they are a fine product.

I grew up in Wisconsin eating these polish sausages and I HAD to order them. They were just as good as I remembered! It's soooooo expensive to purchase here so I probably won't be making another order but it was worth the trip back in time. If the price came down I would put these babies on subscription lolUpdate 2023 - I lied! I had to order again 😂

I have found no other pickled sausages that come close to this one. While the hot are too hot for me, the regulars are perfect. When I was younger the hot would have been just right though.

Not what I was hoping for--the "hot" is not a natural hot, and leaves an unnatural taste in my mouth--think they would be better if they just pickled them and left the fake heat flavor out. Will keep looking for that perfect pickled sausage I remember as a kid ...
