Makita782401-1 Lock Nut Wrench

This wrench fit my Makita 9553NB as advertised.I misplaced the original wrench and this replacement allows me to use my grinder tool again!I would recommend to others!

Works like a charm on both my 4 inch and my 4 1/2 makita angle grinders. I know its made for 4 inch but it does work on 4 1/2 just align the pins with the adjacent holes on the jam nut of the 4 1/2 grinder (see pic). 30 seconds is all it take to remove and replace grinding or diamond wheels. Now take it from a journeyman outside machinist of 40 years, do not over tighten these jam nuts. You don't need a darn 3 foot long breaker bar to tighten these jam nuts. Get them snug and you'll be good to go. Also I don't know why the description says silver but as you can see it is black.

For the right tool it would be fine. I did not use it as it was the wrong size for mine unit so returned it.

Works for my makita 9" grinder

Wrench that came with my grinder wandered off, this one looks a quite a bit sturdier, time will tell but it works.

Removing sander drive wheel

I inherited a Makita 9501B disk grinder from my Dad. I don't think he ever used it. If it came with this tool, I never found it. You really need it to change disks. A little pricey. but it is original equipment and it works perfectly. The adjustable ones are generally poorly reviewed.

Maybe I missed something but all I caught in the Amazon product description for what grinders this wrench fits was something basic like "it fits most Makita grinders". But other sellers sell universal wrenches listed to fit both DeWalt and Makita and somehow this Makita wrench doesn't properly fit my DeWalt grinder. A little confused? Yeah me too.But long story short it seems to be a genuine branded Makita product, only cost about $5 with free prime next day shipping and if you stick one wrench prong into the grinder locking ring holes instead of two prongs into two holes like you usually would then lever the second prong of the wrench against the edge of the lock ring then it still does the job. It's slightly more awkward to hold and possibly more prone to slipping but it was nothing tricky either and you actually get a little extra leverage. Got my tightly stuck disc off first try no problem.If you definitely want a proper two prongs into two holes fit then shop carefully, if youre not too picky and have basic hand skills this is fine for whatever you got

Bought as a replacement for the original now lost wrench.Perfect compatibility for original.Without a wrench the grinder is useless.This is an exact replacement, making the tool useful again.,

Purchased to enable me to change the grinding discs on my Makita angle grinder, however the two pins do not mate up with the holes on the grinder lock nut as they are too close together by about 5mm. Suitable for Makita grinder needs removing from the description.

Works perfectly on my N9514B grinder.
